PRECISE TARGET LOCATION
Accurately determining the location of a target makes it easier to dig.
To locate a target, you must:
1. Slowly move the probe over the selected location. If the detector finds the
target, it will beep. The target is located where the sound is loudest.
2. When the detector detects buried metal, continue moving the probe from side
to side, directly over the target, making a narrower and narrower range of
motion.
3. Remember where the detector beeps and stop the probe directly over that
point.
4. Move the search coil in a straight line away from you and back several times.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 at right angles to the original search line to make an "X" mark.
6. The target will be directly under the "X" mark at the location where the beep
will sound.
CAUTION! This method requires practice and good familiarity with the device.
