Translation of the Original Operating Instructions
The minimum distance from the ground should be 1 m to prevent sludge, sand, stones etc from being sucked in.
You can also use the suction float.
In order to be sure of this positioning it is advisable to set the pump down on the bottom of the well shaft and to
mark this submersion depth on the tensioned cord. Make a second marking 1 m below this (i.e. towards the
pump). Now draw the pump upwards 1 m and fasten the device in place at this position whilst observing the
second marking. Please note that the maximum submersion depth of the pump in liquid is 12 m.

Use as a surface pump
Every time the pump is put into operation, great care must be taken to ensure that it is placed in a safe and stable
position. The unit must always be placed on level ground and in a lying position.
Visually inspect the pump before each use. This applies in particular to the mains connection cable and the mains
plug. Make sure that all screw fitting are tight and that all connections are in flawless condition. Do not use
damaged pumps. Damaged pumps must be checked by the specialist service department.
5.5.
Installing the suction line
The inlet of the suction line must be equipped with a suction filter to keep out coarse dirt
particles in the water that could clog or damage the pump.
The suction line conveys the liquid to be pumped to the pump. Use a flexible suction hose suitable for this with the
same diameter as the suction connection (6) of the pump. To do this, open the flap on the bottom of the pump
using the locking screw. Place the enclosed seal in the connection piece (9) provided for the suction line and
screw it onto the opening inside. Now you can shorten the connection piece (9) as you like - but make sure that
the screw aid is not cut away with it.
The inlet of the suction line must be equipped with a suction filter or suction strainer to keep away coarse dirt
particles in the water that could clog or damage the pump. It is also highly recommended to install a non-return
valve at the inlet of the suction line, which prevents the pressure from escaping after the pump has been switched
off.
A suction set incl. ball float (art. no. 31017) is highly recommended; this float, with its buoyancy, ensures that the
inlet of the suction line has sufficient distance to the bottom to prevent stones, plants, leaves etc. from being
sucked in.
5.6.
Mounting the pump on the carrier system
For some uses - for example, to draw water from streams or shallow waters - it is advisable to install the pump
horizontally so that the discharge connection (3) is horizontal (inclined at 10°). For this reason, a specially
developed carrier system (8) is included in the scope of delivery of this model. It is essential to fit the pump onto
this carrier system for this type of use and installation because it ensures the necessary stability and function
(bleeding). For this reason, mount it as shown below. Horizontal installation may only be carried out after fitting
the pump to this carrier system.
