Charging
If the chassis connection is to the negative
pole, start by attaching the red clamp onto
the battery's positive terminal (red, plus).
Then attach the black clamp onto a piece of
exposed metal on the chassis. It must not be
attached to the carburettor, the fuel line or
any painted metal parts.
Only now should you connect the battery
charger to the mains power.
Press the MODE button (1) one or more
times to select the charging function. The
corresponding symbol lights up on the
display (2).
You can choose between the following
charging functions:
•
Slow 12 V charging (7), which charges at
2 A and switches off at a voltage of 14.5 V.
•
Rapid 12 V charging (8), which charges at
4 A and switches off at a voltage of 14.8 V.
•
12 V charging at low temperature (9)
(under 5 °C), which charges at 4 A and
switches off at a voltage of 14.8 V.
•
6 V charging (10), which charges at 2 A
and switches off at a voltage of 7.5 V.
The charging process occurs automatically
in 8 steps, which are controlled by a
microprocessor.
The frame around the battery on the
charging status symbol (14) ashes while
the battery is charging. The bars in the
battery shows the battery's charging status.
Each bar represents 25% Once all four bars
are displayed and the frame has stopped
ashing, the battery is fully charged.
There is no risk of overcharging the battery
or of the battery uid overheating.

In order to nish charging, turn the battery
charger off at the mains socket.
First disconnect the black battery clamp from
the battery from the chassis connection and
then disconnect the red battery clamp from
the battery.
Possible faults
If the symbol (12) is displayed a few seconds
after you plug the battery charger into
an electrical socket, it may be due to the
following error:
1) The battery clamps are connected to the
wrong poles. Unplug the battery charger
from the electrical socket, change the
battery clamps round, and plug the
battery charger back in.
2) The battery's voltage is too low.
3) The battery's voltage is too high.
4) The battery or its cells have short
circuited.
Correct the error and restart the charging
process.
If the symbol (11) is displayed, the battery is
defective.
Get the battery checked by an expert.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe the battery charger down regularly
using a well-wrung cloth.
If battery uid gets onto the battery charge,
it must be wiped off immediately.
