INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The amplifier with the AUDIFON-V induction loop receives the signal to be transmitted over the loop via
its AUX IN and MIC IN inputs and transmits them over the induction loop connected to the LOOP OUT in
the form of a current. This loop, already installed in the room, outlines a space that will be the area where
the users will need to position themselves to receive the signal via their hearing aids with the T (Tele-Coil)
function activated.
The coverage gap will vary according to the installation, but in all installations the coverage gap will be above
and below the interior area created by the cable (loop) and there will never be a signal directly below or
above the cable. The installation must ensure that the audio signal is transmitted with the highest possible
uniformity and quality within this space.
In addition, the amplifier has volume controls for inputs and outputs that can be easily adjusted to meet
listener and installation needs.
When the listener activates the T function, they will no longer hear any background sound because their
hearing aid microphone is muted. For installations where only one audio (AUX IN) is to be connected, e.g. a
TV, it is recommended to connect an ambient microphone to the MIC IN input to prevent these individuals
from being isolated.
NOTE: some hearing aids have an MT feature that allows you to hear backgroud sound while the T feature
is active.
Here are 3 examples of using this amplifier:
1.- RECOMMENDED APPLICATION EXAMPLE. A cinema box office where the 2 people are separated
by glass and the environment is noisy. The microphone input and the induction loop supplied with the
equipment should be used.
2.- Conversation between 2 people in a noisy environment using the microphone input and the induction
loop supplied with the installation. Larger installations require a different induction loop than the one
supplied (different section, dimension and number of loops).
3.- User using a computer in a low-noise room. The audio source is received via AUX IN but the microphone
input is also used so as not to isolate the user from the environment or from people approaching him.
You should use an induction loop according to the installation. Larger installations require a different
induction loop than the one supplied (different section, dimension and number of loops).

EN IEC 60118-4:2015-A1:2018 (Electroacoustics - Hearing aids - Part 4 Induction-loop systems for hearing
aid purposes - System performance requirements) And/or other standards that may exist in the country
where the INTERFON-V is to be installed .
-
The AUDIFON-V amplifier is prepared for a loop covering 1.2 m² (provided) which is possible to extend
up to 20 m² (using a loop of 4.5 x 4.5 m in 4 loops).
GENERAL DATA AND RECOMMENDATIONS
-
Check the area where the induction loop is to be installed with a hearing aid to verify that there is no
magnetic field that will affect the subsequent installation.
-
Induction loops must be placed at least 600 mm away from telephone lines, electrical lines and control
wiring.
-
The listening plane is considered between 1.2 m and 1.8 m, taking into account the position of a person
sitting and standing respectively.
-
Prior to the final installation of the loop, perform a hearing aid test to verify that the position of the loop
provides good coverage.
-
Induction loops give signal coverage in their interior and exterior area, as well as in the upper and lower
planes. Even if the main concern in the installation is to ensure that the audio is uniform and of quality in
the interior area, we have to take this into account in places where multiple induction loop systems are
to be installed, on different floors or on the same floor, to avoid interference between them.
-
Avoid solid or perforated metal structures, especially large metal plates, as they can absorb part of the
magnetic field resulting in an area with an inhomogeneous signal or even no signal at all. If possible,
install the loop at least 1 meter away from large pillars.
