ADJUSTING THE TENSION OF THE SAW CHAIN
CAUTION: Perform the saw chain installation or removal
procedure in a clean place, free of sawdust and the like.
CAUTION: Do not overtighten the saw chain. Excessively
high tension on the saw chain can
cause saw chain breakage, guide bar wear, and tension
knob breakage.
CAUTION: A chain that is too loose can jump off the bar and
cause an accident with injury.
The saw chain can loosen after many hours of use. Check
the tension of the saw chain from time to time before use.
1. Press and fully open the lever until it clicks. Turn it a little
counterclockwise to loosen the pinion cap slightly.
2. Turn the tension knob clockwise to tighten the saw chain
until the underside of the saw chain engages the guide bar
rail as illustrated.
3. Keep holding the guide bar lightly and tighten the sproc-
ket cap. Make sure that the saw chain does not loosen on
the underside.
4. Return the lever to the original position.
LUBRICATION
The saw chain is automatically lubricated when the tool is
in operation. Check the amount of oil remaining through the
oil tank window periodically.
To refill the tank, turn the chainsaw on its side and remove
the oil tank cap. The proper amount of oil is 160 ml. After
filling the tank, make sure the oil tank cap is tight.
After refilling, keep the chainsaw away from the tree. Turn
it on and wait until the lubrication of the saw chain is ade-
quate.
NOTICE: When filling the chain oil for the first time or re-
filling the tank after it has been completely drained, add
oil to the lower edge of the filler neck. Otherwise, the oil
supply may be affected.
NOTICE: Never use oil that includes dust and particles or
volatile oil.
NOTICE: When trimming trees, use botanical oil. Mineral oil
can damage trees.
NOTICE: Before cutting operation, make sure the supplied
oil tank cap is screwed in place.
GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING!
Read all instructions. Failure to comply with
these instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term "power
tool" in all of the warnings listed below refers to your live
(corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1 Work area
1) Keep the work area clean and well lit. Untidy or dark
areas cause accidents.
2) Do not use in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools
create sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
3) Keep children and bystanders away during use. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
2 Electrical Safety
1) Never modify the plug. Do not use adapters. Unmodified
plugs and corresponding sockets will reduce the risk of
electric shock.
2) Avoid contact of the body with grounded surfaces, such
as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There is an
increased risk.
3) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water will increase the risk of electric shock.
4) Never use the cord to carry, pull or unplug the power
tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or mo-
ving parts. Damaged or tangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
5) When using a power tool outdoors, use an appropriate
extension cord. Use of an outdoor power tool cord reduces
the risk of electric shock.
6) If use of a power tool in a wet location is unavoidable,
use a RCD protected supply. The use of an RCD reduces the
risk of electric shock.
