Direct cabling:
IMPORTANT
Connect the shield to the chassis ground on one side only. The shield can only effectively
reduce the external noise when the shield is connected to earth. Connecting the shield on
both sides could create ground currents, which would create extra measurement errors.
HINT/TIP
Best results are achieved by grounding the shield directly on the GEN DAQ mainframe
chassis ground terminal(s).
As the chassis ground terminal does not accept the shrouded banana plugs, every
KAB2139 cable comes with an adapter (LD-024-1001712) that can be mounted directly
underneath the chassis ground terminal of the GEN DAQ mainframe (see figure above).
6. Cleaning, inspection
WARNING
Inspect the cable on any damage to the cable and/or connectors before every measurement.
Using an HV measurement cable with any mechanical damage is prohibited. Replace the HV
measurement cable if it is damaged.
Ensure that the HV measurement cable is kept clean. Clean the cable regularly.
Before cleaning it, disconnect the HV measurement cable from both the device under test
and the measuring instrument. Inspect the HV measurement cable for mechanical damage
along its entire length.
Note If necessary, use a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent to carefully wipe the HV measurement cable clean.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agent or alcohol. After cleaning it, allow the HV measurement cable to dry
thoroughly before its next use.
