Important notice:
»alarmo«'s radio alarm signal is triggered
by the computer-assisted positive analysis
of environment sounds.
Despite of digital filtering and programmed
threshold values, the possibility of a false
alarm cannot be fully excluded, due to the
almost limitless variety of possible sounds
(e. g. siren-like custom ringtones on mobile
phones).
Due to these facts, the Humantechnik
GmbH will take no responsibility for false
alarms and their effects.
For this reason we advise to test the function
of the »alarmo« by releasing a test alert on
the alarm device (smoke detector, fire alarm
system) which is to be monitored.
Sensitivity
»alarmo« has been developed and tested
by considering and utilising many different
types of alarm tones.
It is possible to alter the thresholds of your
»alarmo«'s acoustic analysis, should it fail
to respond to the monitored alarm device,
even after repeated tests and alternating
positions.
This involves opening the chassis and a
certain process.
In this case, please contact the Human-
technik GmbH for advice.
Radio range
Note the following points when using the
»alarmo«:
The radio signals are designed to have a
range of 70 meters under perfect condi-
tions. The following conditions may result in
a reduced range:
- Signal transmission through building
structures or vegetation.
- Interference from TVs, computer monitors
and mobile phones. Under certain circum-
stances, this may prevent the receiver
from functioning at all.
- Positioning of the transmitter at an un-
favourable distance from surfaces which
reflect radio waves, for example floors and
walls. This may lead to the signal wave be-
ing weakened or even cancelled out by
the reflected wave.
- Metallic objects reduce the range due to
the shielding effect of the metal.
- Particularly in towns and cities, there may
be many other sources of radio waves
which can disrupt the original signal.
- Having units operating at similar frequen-
cies located close to one another may also
result in mutual interference.
