AFETY NOTES
! Please read the instructions before using the product.
! Use the unit only for the intended applications (
! Never touch any soldered joint, electronic component
etc. with a metallic object of any kind, as this could
cause a short-circuit.
! Disconnect the transmitter battery from its socket before
carrying out any work inside the transmitter!
For information on disconnecting and re-connecting the
transmitter battery please refer to the operating
instructions supplied with your Graupner transmitter.
! Do not make any modifications of a technical nature to
the RF module.
If any component should be damaged, always have it
checked by a MULTIPLEX Service Centre.
! Do not touch any components on the RF module when
inserting or removing it.
! When the RF module is not installed in a transmitter,
protect it from mechanical load (vibration, shock,
distortion, ...) and damp.

NOTES
Electronic devices are susceptible to damage
from static electronic charge, and both the trans-
mitter and the sub-assemblies mentioned in these
operating instructions are fitted with components
which are electrostatically sensitive. These parts
may be ruined, or their effective life shortened, by the effect of
an electrical field, or by static discharge (potential equalization).

and LED button)
It is essential to observe the following protective measures
when handling electrostatically sensitive sub-assemblies:
Before fitting or removing such sub-assemblies from the
base device, equalize the electrical potential between your-
self and your environment (typically by grasping an earthed
radiator).
Open the base unit, and touch a large area of it in order to
equalize the potential with the base unit.
Avoid directly touching electronic components or soldered
joints. Hold sub-assemblies by the edges of the circuit board
only.

A
PPLICATION
The 2.4 GHz HFMG1 M-LINK RF module is approved exclu-
sively for use in the following Graupner transmitters:
Graupner mc-18.
Graupner mc-20.
Graupner mc-24.

PECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
Simple installation:
The cased HFMG1 M-LINK 2.4 GHz plug-in RF module is
fitted inside the transmitter in place of the previous xx MHz
RF module. The aerial lead with screw-fitting base and the
LED button are installed in two vacant switch wells. All that
remains then is to screw the 2.4 GHz transmitter aerial into
its socket.
Integral buzzer:
If a telemetry-capable M-LINK receiver is used, the trans-
mitter emits an audible warning when the receiver battery
voltage falls to a dangerous level.
Extended operating time:
The current drain of the 2.4 GHz RF module is low.
4.).
LED button:
Externally accessible, functions as status indicator, binding
button and range-check button.
The ball and socket aerial base for the 35, 40, ... MHz aerial
is retained, even after the conversion has been carried out:
It is possible to continue to use the system on 35, 40, ...
MHz if you use the optional aerial adapter lead (# 7 5116).
Unplug the transmitter battery, disconnect the aerial lead,
disconnect the LED button lead from the RF module, and
swap the RF module. Now just re-connect the transmitter
battery and screw the 35, 40, ... MHz transmitter aerial into
its socket - job done!
Prepared for use with the MULTIPLEX Telemetry-Display
(# 4 5182):
If the system includes a telemetry-capable receiver and
external sensors, up to sixteen telemetry values can be
generated and shown on the Telemetry-Display, including
visual and audible warnings.
Once you have converted the Graupner transmitter to the
2.4 GHz M-LINK system, it is then possible to expand the
transmitter by a further four channels using the channel
expansion module (# 7 5810). In Graupner terminology this
typically corresponds to eight additional channels! All the
channels are fully proportional, of equal value, and are trans-
mitted at the same high speed, although it is not possible to
program these four supplementary channels.
The channel expansion module is connected to the 2.4 GHz
HFMG1 M-LINK RF module. Up to four transmitter controls
(available as accessories) can be connected to this module.
