BEFORE FIRST USE
Before connecting to the mains power supply, wipe the exterior surface
of the iron with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
To remove any impurities that may have occurred during the
manufacturing process, it is best to use the iron on an old piece of
cloth, making sure that it is on the highest temperature setting suitable
for the material.
STEP 1: Plug in and switch on the iron at the mains power supply, place
the iron onto the cloth and then press the steam burst button 2-3 times,
waiting approx. 5 seconds in between each burst; this will remove any
impurities from the stainless steel soleplate. Do not immerse the iron in
water or any other liquid.
Note: When using the iron for the first time, a slight odour and a
small amount of smoke may be emitted. This is normal and will
soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the iron when
it is in use.
FILLING THE WATER TANK
STEP 1: Check that the iron is switched off and unplugged from the
mains power supply, with the control dial set to the 'MIN' position and

the steam switch in the off position.
STEP 2: Open the water tank cap by pulling the tab away from the iron.
STEP 3: Fill the measuring jug with water and then carefully pour the
contents into the water tank.
Caution: Do not fill the water tank past the max. fill mark.
Warning: Do not fill the water tank with hot water.
Never add aromatic, alcoholic or detergent products to the water
tank, as this could cause damage to the iron or injury to the user.
IRONING WITH STEAM
The steam settings are ideal for removing creases from fabrics such as
cotton and linen with ease.
STEP 1: Fill the water tank following the instructions in the section
entitled 'Filling the Water Tank'
STEP 2: Plug in and switch on the iron at the mains power supply.
STEP 3: To increase the temperature of the iron, rotate the control
dial in a clockwise direction until the desired heat setting is reached.
Reduce the temperature by rotating the control dial in an anticlockwise
direction. The temperature indicator light will illuminate to signal that
the iron is heating up; this will switch off once the iron is ready to use.
The iron will only produce steam when the control dial is set to the 2-dot
heat setting or higher. The iron will only heat up when the control dial is
set to the 1-dot minimum heat setting.
