Assembly of the Jungle Line:
The Schildkröt Jungle Line logo print must point upwards.
Step 1: Thread the ratchet cover onto the webbing sling
with ratchet (=fixed end) (fig.1).
Step 2: Loop the fixed end around a tree and pull the ratchet
through the reinforced loop end (fig. 2).
Take care that the webbing will not be twisted.
Step 3: Loop the Jungle Line (lose end) around the other
tree and pull the complete slack flatly through the
reinforced loop (fig. 3+4). Take care that the webbing
will not be twisted.
Step 4: Now thread the lose end of the Jungle Line through
the slot on the ratchet and pull the slack all the way through
the ratchet (fig. 5). Again, take care that the webbing will
not be twisted.
Before using the ratchet, the Jungle Line must be pulled flat
by hand (= pretensioning).
Tip: Ask a second person to
help you!
The ratchet must face
downwards to the ground.
Use the ratchet by moving its
handle back and forth. (fig. 6).
The tension is sufficient when
you are not able to tighten
the handle on the ratchet with
a maximum ratchet force
of approximately 400N.
The Jungle Line can be
tightened
anymore, and the handle of the ratchet is fixed.
Warning! Tension the Jungle Line by hand only. After the tightening process, the ratchet must audibly and securely snap into
its end position (fig. 7).
Warning! The ratchet must lie
under the Jungle Line and must
be covered with the ratchet
cover to protect against catching,
pinching or shearing points.
Roll up the overhanging
webbing and cover with the
ratchet protection. (fig. 8, 9, 10).
Obligatory stress test:
Step 1: Make sure the ratchet has snapped firmly. All carabiners must be securely locked.
Step 2: Perform the required stress test before first use.
The Jungle Line setup must be tested with 120kg at a distance of at least 150cm from each anchor point of the line (fig. 1).
