enerAl notes on sAfety
This technical document is applicable for the machine
ROTOmax 4.2 TWIN. The machine may only be handled
by personnel who are qualified.
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting tool may con-
tact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a «live»
wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool «live» and
shock the operator.
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all in-
structions. Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future refer-
ence.

se of the mAchine for purposes for
which it is intended
The machine with adjustable speed drive is intended ex-
clusively for use as a hand-held tool for grinding or polish-
ing without the use of water. Make sure that only SUHNER
products are used as flexible shafts, hand tools and abra-
sives. A grounding connection or grounding with a fault
current switch is required. Flexible shafts with connection
thread M10 (type DIN 10) and M14 (type DIN 15).

All uses other than those described under section
1.2 are regarded as incorrect use and are there-
fore not admissible.

Before connecting tool to a power
source, be sure the voltage sup-
plied is the same as specified on
the name plate of the tool.

2.2.1 s
electing the shAft connector
The shaft connector can be changed by pulling the jour-
nal and turning the changing device (1).
This operation may only be performed when the
machine is at a standstill.
Connection for shafts with thread M14 (DIN15) (2).
Connection for shafts with thread M10 (DIN10) (3).
The top shaft connector is ready for operation.
2.2.2 f
lexiBle shAft
Block threaded connection with locking pin. Use lock-
ing pin to screw threaded coupling onto the shaft. Insert
locking knob and hose coupling into the connection bore.
Make sure that the locking knob snaps in.
