PBS-10
Power supply for 12v SHERPA and ARAS centralized beacons.
The basic operation of the unit is as follow:
• WHEN MAINTAINED, charges the battery, controls the MAINS voltage and supplies -6V DC voltage to the beacons which are connected to the
unit. A LED pilot (inside) acts as a charging control. By connecting a DAISALUX remote-control (optional) to the unit and pressing ON,
it is possible to simulate a failure of the mains supply and so test its operation in emergency mode.
• DURING A MAINS FAILURE: the unit changes automatically to emergency operation mode, supplying 12V DC voltage to the beacons which are
connected to the unit for a period of time equal or superior to the rated duration of the unit. By connecting a DAISALUX remote-control
(optional) to the unit and pressing ON-OFF, emergency operation mode can change to stand-by mode and vice versa.
By connecting an extra push-button ("Stop push-button": see wiring diagram) and pressing it, emergency operation mode can change to stand-
by mode.

THE UNIT AND COMPLETE THE ELECTRIC WIRING.
Specifications
Maintenance and caution
- All units are provided with a NiCd accumulators battery for the storage of energy. The manufacturers of these batteries assure a four
years operating life for the battery, or a minimum of 400 charge-discharge cycles. After this period, the batteries must be replaced to
keep unchanging the characteristics of the unit. The replacement of the batteries must be carried out by qualified personnel.
- Nominal voltage, duration and the characteristics of the battery are indelibly marked on the label of the unit.
- Any maintenance procedure must be carried out by qualified personnel.
- Before connection of the unit, always check that the voltage of the distributing mains supply corresponds with that specified on the
label of the unit.
- Be sure the unit is disconnected from the MAINS before performing any maintenance procedure.
- In order to prevent an excessive voltage drop in the electric wiring, the length of the cable connecting the PBS-10 with the beacons
should not exceed 75 metres, for 1.5 mm
sectional area or connect several cable lines to the beacons.
- It is not adviceable to disconnect the mains of the unit everyday, as the life of the batteries and the lamps will be reduced.
- Keep these instructions.
