Connection to the Radio Set
Notice!
Some radio sets still output a supply voltage to the accessory
connector even when the radio set is off. In such cases, it is
advisable to disconnect the HandyCom from the radio set
when not in use for prolonged periods in order to protect the
batteries of the radio set.
(1) Switch off the radio set.
(2) Adjust the volume to the lowest level (see chapter 3.1).
(3) Connect the HandyCom to the radio set.
(4) Switch the radio set back on and adjust the volume to the
level you require.
3.3.
Connection of an External Earphone
Notice!
The jack plugs must comply with the JIS C 6560 standard
(concentric plug and jacks); non-compliant plugs may damage
the jack socket.
The device has an earphone socket for connecting a set of
headphones or earphones using a 3.5 mm jack plug.
(1) Open the protective cover on the earphone socket.
(2) Insert the jack plug into the earphone socket.
(3) To talk, you can continue to use the PTT button and
microphone on the device.
(4) Close the protective cover after using the external
earphone.
The device is ready-to-receive.
The jack plug is fitted until it clicks into place.
