ADVICE REGARDING THE COFFEE
-
To get the maximum taste from the coffee, we recommend using coffee grains which have been ground
recently every time you make an espresso coffee. Take care to grind the coffee to the right size to make
an espresso. Grinding it too fine will make the espresso too fragmented and bitter. Grinding it too thick
will make it less fragmented and lacking in taste. The perfect grind for an espresso is slightly granulated,
with a texture somewhere between that of sugar and flour. Ground coffee grains that are not uniform
or grains exposed to too much heat when being ground will also affect the final result, so make sure
you use a high quality grinder that grinds the grains to the right size for a uniform extraction, without
overheating the grains and eliminating their natural oils.
-
Apart from the coffee, use fresh water that is free from odours, chlorine and other impurities, to guarantee
a perfect espresso.
-
Store the espresso coffee grains in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place to maintain their flavour. Do
not store the grains for long periods of time, since the flavour will disappear over time.
-
Do not fill the filter holder to the brim. Use the measuring scoop included, add one measuring scoop of
coffee per espresso cup.

-
If the coffee machine is not being used for more than 5 consecutive days, rinse out and empty the water
tank.
-
Before removing the water tank for filling or emptying, always put the machine to the off setting.
-
Always place the machine on an even, stable, heat-resistant surface.
-
To make the espresso exactly at the right temperature, we recommend you preheat the cups you are
going to use on the surface provided for that purpose (2).
Follow the steps described below to clean the coffee machine:

Fill the water tank up to the maximum mark with fresh water and turn on the coffee machine. The lamp
will flash while the coffee machines heats up. Use the measuring scoop, adding one scoop of espresso
coffee per cup. Check that all remains of spilt coffee remaining on the edge of the filter have been
removed. These coffee remains will make the filter difficult to close and affect the quality of the espresso.

Insert the filter holder and turn the handle to the right as far as it goes.

IMPORTANT: To protect the rubber seal from wear, do not store the filter holder in the closed position

IMPORTANT: To obtain a stronger espresso, use one heaped scoopful of ground coffee per cup. For
a lighter espresso, use less than one full scoopful.
The coffee machine has been pre-programmed for using 50ml of water per coffee cup. Depending on your
preference with respect to the intensity of the espresso taste or the size of the cups normally used, you may
want to adjust this option. Changing the pre-adjusted quantity to less than 50ml will give a more intense
espresso. Increasing the quantity to more than 50ml will give a milder espresso.
