Special safety instructions
This multimeter is designed according to
the applicable rules of EN-61010-1, relating
to electronic measurement instruments
with high-voltage capability, category II.
Only use the accompanying test cables
together with the multimeter.
Never exceed the values specifi ed on the
front of the multimeter.
Once the multimeter is connected to a
circuit, you must not touch the terminals
that are not in use under any circumstances.
Never use the multimeter to test voltages
that may exceed 500 V in category II
installations.
Set the function selector to the maximum
range if you do not know in advance what
the range will be.
Before turning the function selector, you
should disconnect the test cables from the
object being measured.
If you perform measurements on
televisions, etc. you must remember that
they are constructed in such a way that
there may be huge voltage fl uctuations that
can damage the multimeter.
Always be careful when working with
voltages over 60 V DC or 30 V AC. Keep your
fi ngers behind the two small ridges on the
test cables.
Always turn off the multimeter before
placing the transistor in the socket to test it.
Nothing should be inserted in the hFE
socket when performing measurements
using the test cables.
Never take resistance measurements of live
circuits.
Before the multimeter is opened, all the test
cables should be removed from the objects
being measured.
Never use the multimeter if the rear panel is
not correctly attached.
If the fuse blows, it must be replaced with a
new F 500 mA / 500 V; F 5 A / 500 V fuse.
For indoor use only.
Measuring DC current
Connect the red test cable to the VΩmAhFE
socket and connect the black test cable to
the COM socket.
Turn the function selector to the required
DCV measurement range. If you do not
know the appropriate measurement range
in advance, you should select the highest
setting on the function selector and, after
measurement, reduce the setting until the
measurement result is shown as a relevant
value.
Place the test cables on the object to be
measured. The measurement result and
polarity are shown in the display.
