hot water vapour may trigger the alarm.
DO NOT INSTALL THE SENSOR NEAR TO A CHIMNEY OR WOOD-BURNING STOVE as the smoke emitted could
cause an erroneous alarm to be triggered.
1. POSITIONING
As smoke rises, it is recommended to install the detector on the ceiling in the centre of the room. Avoid areas that
have no air circulation, for example ceiling corners in rooms or near to other appliances that could prevent air from
circulating freely (see Figure 3).
Consequently, to prevent the device being set off accidentally, areas to avoid are:
• Rooms where the temperature can drop below 4°C or rise above 40°C,
• Damp rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and shower rooms where the relative humidity can exceed 90%,
• Next to or directly above sources of heat such as radiators / fans or passageways which may affect the circulation
of air currents,
• Very dusty or dirty environments such as workshops,
• Ceiling corners of rooms; next to objects that prevent the free circulation of air.
