• Do not use the pressure-reducing valve when it is malfunctioning.
• Gas may only be withdrawn from gas cylinders which are upright and protected
against falling.
COMMISSIONING
Connecting the pressure-reducing valve.
- Check the conditions of the pressure-reducing valve before use.
- Check that the pressure-reducing valve is suitable for the type of gas and cylinder
pressure to be used (9).
- Turn the operating pressure adjustment knob (5) counter-clockwise and the flow
micro-adjustment screw (6) clockwise to ensure that the pressure-reducing valves are closed.
- Replace the gasket (2) if it is damaged or lost and each time the cylinder is replaced.
- Make sure that the cylinder valve is not damaged. If it is damaged, do not screw in the
pressure-reducing valve and contact your retailer.
- Before screwing in the pressure-reducing valve, open and close the cylinder valve (1)
briefly to remove any impurities, using compressed air if necessary.
Take care to point the cylinder valve outlet (1) towards the wall and to carry out the operation
away from heat sources.
- It can be dangerous to stand or put your hand in front of the cylinder valve (1) during
this operation.
- Connect the reducing valve (2) to the cylinder valve (1), tightening it using a suitable tool
(not pliers) if necessary.
- Make sure that the flow regulator is screwed in tightly (10).
- Place the cylinder upright and connect the pressure-reducing valve (3) to the cylinder valve,
tightening it firmly.
- If the cylinder is dropped, even accidentally, check the conditions of both the
pressure-reducing valve and the container and contact your retailer if necessary.
NECESSARY CHECKS BEFORE COMMISSIONING
The following checks must be carried out after installation has been completed:
- Check that there are no gas leaks from the reducing valve or from the connections
to the pipes.
- If there are gas leaks from the reducing valve, after relieving the pressure,
check that all the seals are of a suitable material and that they are actually present
at the inlet/outlet connection points of the reducing valve.
- All the reducing valve seals have already been checked at the factory, however it is advisable
to check them after installation together with the seals of the connected pipes.
