5. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF THE SAFETY DEVICES
This pressure cooker is equipped with different safety devices to ensure you can cook easily.
Open-close safety device: there is an automatic lock device between the lid and upper handle.
When the pressure inside the cooker reaches 5 Kpa, the red indicator will rise, engaging the auto-
matic lock device and preventing you from opening the lid. When the pressure drops but is still over
5 Kpa, the red indicator will stay locked in place, so you cannot open the lid for your own safety.
Caution: before the red indicator rises, a small amount of steam may be released along the sides
of the upper handle, and this is normal.
Pressure control valve: this valve is used to adjust the cooking pressure inside the cooker and
release the pressure quickly. (See fig. 12) (See fig. 13)

Safety valve: if the cooker pressure control valve does not work properly, the pressure inside the
cooker will exceed the normal operating pressure. When the pressure rises to between 130 Kpa
and 180 Kpa, the safety valve will release steam automatically to keep the pressure below 180
Kpa to ensure your safety.
Safety window: when the pressure cooker is damaged and all the safety devices stop working,
the pressure inside the cooker will rise again. If the pressure inside the cooker rises to between
200 Kpa - 280 Kpa, the sealing gasket inside the cooker will shrink to release steam quickly and
reduce the pressure below 20 Kpa within 60 seconds to ensure your safety.
