2.2 Intended use
The Alivion Spark M-20 is used to quickly measure the methanol
concentration in aqueous, alcohol-containing liquids*. This includes
alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits, etc.), liquid sanitizers, and
alcohol-based fuels, including biofuels. The device is handheld, suitable
for mobile and network-independent operation.
2.3 Required consumables
The following consumables are required for proper operation:
Alivion Methanol Standards 1 and 2

Alivion liquid sample vials and pipettes
•
These products may be included already in your starter kit and can be
ordered separately from Alivion.
WARNING
Accurate results can only be ensured if official
consumables purchased by Alivion are used.
*Concentrations of solutes (e.g. sugar, salt) above 50 g/L influence the
measurement result. A correction table for sugar-containing alcoholic beverages
(e.g. liqueurs, sweet wine) can be found in Appendix A or on www.alivion.ch.
