5. General set-up
Position of the Bypass in the home
Place the Bypass at a central point in order to minimise
the lengths of the air flow connections, so that the
Bypass can be positioned between sources A and B
(see page 3). Care should be taken to limit the lengths
of the ducts and make the ducts leading to the sources
a similar length.
The appliance must be installed so that it can be easily
accessed for care and maintenance operations. If the
appliance is placed in the roof space, you must allow for
a trap door of at least 50x50 cm. This trap door must not
be placed above a cupboard.
Bypass support system
The Bypass system can be hung from the ceiling using
the four rings located on the top of the system
(Item 2 – page 2).
The ceiling-mounting kit must be fixed to these four
points to hang the Bypass.
The ceiling-mounting system and the ceiling fastening
points must be sized to support the weight of the
housing.
The housing must be kept horizontal.
Free-standing system
The Bypass can be fitted providing that the entire lower
side of the system is in contact with a support element.
Make sure that the support is stable and correctly sized.
Duct network
▪ Use insulated 160 mm diameter ducts.
▪ Use as few bends as possible.
▪ Place the duct as straight as possible.
▪ Make sure the network is carefully sealed, from roof
suction to the ventilation openings.

Electrical connection
The appliance must be connected by a professional as
per standard NFC 15-100.
This step must only be performed when the other
installation steps have been completed. This avoids any
risk of electric shocks when installing the various parts
of the system.
The Bypass must be connected to a dedicated line. On
the switchboard, the system must be equipped with a
2A, curve C, magnetothermal bipolar circuit breaker, a
30mA differential circuit breaker and a disconnection
switch in the fixed line.
Connect the supplied cable to the mains via a sealed
junction box with an IP55 rating (not supplied).
Type of cable: 2 x 1 mm² without a ground conductor.
Single phase, 230 VAC, 50 Hz.
