6. NOTE: If you will not use an adjustable shelf behind the doors on your Bookcase, you must use a
Door Stop (M). Hold the Door Stop (M) against the back of the molding on the center shelf of the
bookcase. Center it in the unit and draw a pencil mark across the back of the stop on the underside
of the center shelf. Slide the Door Stop until the pencil mark is visible in the slots. Attach the stop
with #6x5/8" Philtruss Screws (P). The slots allow for finer adjustment so that the doors are in line.
See Figures 6, 6a and 6b.
Attach a Pad (J) to the back of each door where it come into contact with the door stop or the
adjustable shelf.
IMPORTANT: When you have determined the location for your unit, install the Furniture Tipping Restraint
included with your bookcase. Carefully follow the instructions on the package. If you cannot locate a stud,
purchase the proper tipping restraint for your type of wall and install.
When doors are mounted on a bookcase, the Tipping Restraint
hardware provided with the Bookcase that you purchased
MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE WALL to prevent tipping.
