13.1 Settings for MMA welding
To select the type of welding required:
•
Press and hold down rotary switch 'E2' for a few
seconds, or the icon
changes as shown below.

Turn one of the rotary switches and select the icon
for the MMA
welding process; to confirm, press
'E2'. Alternatively, tap the icon on the screen.
•
Turn one of the rotary switches and select the
welding polarity; to confirm, press 'E2'. Alternatively,
tap the icon on the screen.
•
Other parameters can be set by selecting the
SETTINGS icon.
•
To manage the programs and jobs, refer to the
sections that follow.
•
The settings are confirmed by selecting the HOME
icon; following confirmation the main screen
reappears, or confirmation is automatic after 10
seconds.
Using 'E1', the parameter with the blue background can
be set. 'E2' is used to set the parameter with the green
background.

The parameters associated with the two rotary switches
can be selected by pressing the blue or green knobs.
The associated parameters are highlighted by the
diagram at the top of the screen.

By selecting the SETTINGS
set-up screen for the MMA welding parameters is
accessed.

To modify these parameters:
•
Turn 'E1' to select the parameter (to the right for the
value and description of the parameter, to the left for
its identification code)
•
Turn 'E2' to set the value
•
Settings are confirmed by tapping HOME
following confirmation the main screen reappears.
Some of these parameters can also be modified directly
on the main screen by selecting them on the welding
diagram.
The parameters that can be set are:
•
Hotstart: percentage increase in initial current;
helps the electric arc starting.
•
Arcforce: percentage increase in welding current in
the case of short circuits; helps to prevent the
shutdown of the electric arc.
•
Arcforce V: minimum voltage threshold (Volt) that
activates Arcforce. It is useful for special electrodes
to reduce sticking.
•
Dynamics: adjusts the current according to the
position of the electrode.
•
VRD: the time in seconds after which the generator
reduces the output voltage to Vdc, making the work
environment safer.
