- Do not make any alterations or additions to the equipment without the prior written
consent of the manufacturer.
- The equipment must not be used outside its limitations, or for other than its
intended purpose.
- Ensure compatibility of equipment items when assembled into a system. Ensure that
all items are compatible with each other and appropriate for the proposed application.
It is prohibited to use the protection system where the operation of an individual item
is affected by or interferes with the function of another. Periodically check
connections and fittings of components to prevent accidental disconnection or
loosening.
- In the event of deterioration or any doubt as to its suitability for safe use, personal
protective equipment must be withdrawn from use immediately. It must not be used
again until a competent person confirms in writing that it is acceptable to do so.
- In the event that a fall has stopped, the equipment must be removed from use for
inspection.
- It is essential for safety to check the minimum clearance required below the user's
feet in the workplace before each use, so that in the event of a fall there is no collision
with the ground or other obstacle in the path of the fall. Details of the required
minimum clearance can be found in the instructions for use of the respective
components of the fall arrest system.
- During use of the equipment, special attention must be paid to dangerous
circumstances which may affect the behaviour of the equipment and the safety of the
user, and in particular:
- accidental dragging or entanglement over sharp edges;
- various types of damage, such as cuts, abrasion, corrosion;
- negative influence of climatic agents;
- pendulum type falls;
- influence of extreme temperatures;
- effects of contact with chemicals;
- electrical conductivity;
-If the product is resold outside the original country of destination, the reseller must
provide instructions for use, maintenance, periodic inspection and repair in the
language of the country where the equipment is to be used.
LIFESPAN
The estimated useful life of the equipment is unlimited. The following factors may
reduce the life of the product: intensive use, contact with chemicals, particularly
aggressive environments, exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to ultraviolet
rays, abrasion, cuts, strong impacts, or poor use and maintenance.
The mandatory annual inspection shall validate the correct functioning of the
equipment. It is mandatory that the equipment be inspected by the manufacturer or
an authorised person at least once a year.
In the event of a fall, the equipment must be removed from use.
TRANSPORTATION
Personal protective equipment must be transported in packaging which protects it
against moisture, mechanical, chemical and thermal damage.
