How To Replace The UV-C Lamps
This Papablic UV Bottle Sterilizer and Dryer is equipped with two Philips UV-C
lamps. The average lifespan of these lamps is 6,000 hours. You should be replaced
the UV-C lamps at least once a year, but their life will be extended depending on
usage.
1. Always unplug the appliance and let
the UV-C lamps cool down before
replacing the UV Lamps.
2. To remove the lamp protector. Insert
the crowbar tool near the edge of the slot.
(see Fig. 1). Pry it out of the slot. Repeat
with the clip underneath (or the on
opposite side).
3. To remove the old lamp. Carefully hold
the end of the lamp and gently twist it
clockwise. Do not force the lamp. If there
is resistance, turn the lamp until you feel it
become loose.
4. To install the new lamp. Align the
prongs with the slots in the socket on both
sides. Gently rotate it counterclockwise
until it locks into place. Make sure it is

If A UV Lamp Breaks

mercury sealed within the glass tubing. To minimize exposure to
mercury vapor, EPA recommends that you follow the instructions
below to prevent or handle broken lamps.
1. Always unplug the appliance.
2. Have people and pets leave the room.
3. Air out the room for 5-10 minutes by opening a window or door to an outside
environment.
4. Shut off ant central forced-air heating/air-conditioning system, if you have one
5. Use gloves and a wet paper towel to remove all of the smaller pieces of broken
glass and mercury residue. Be thorough in collecting the broken glass and any visible
powder. Scoop up glass fragments and powder by using stiff paper or cardboard. Use
sticky tape, such as duct tape, to pick up any remaining small glass fragments and
powder. Place the used tape in a glass jar or plastic bag.
6. DO NOT USE A VACUUM TO REMOVE THE BROKEN GLASS.
7. Repeat wiping the area with clean wet paper towels until clean.
8. Place all of the items into a sealable container. Dispose of all waste according to
your local regulations.
9. If practical, continue to air out the room where the bulb was broken and leave the
heating/air conditioning system shut off for several hours.
