Assembly Instructions
Step 1
- Plan the Installation
Determine the desired location of the rack and check the direction and spacing of your ceiling joists in that location.
Use a stud finder to locate the joists if ceiling is finished with drywall. Determine if the orientation the ceiling
brackets will be installed parallel or perpendicular to the direction of your ceiling joists.
Parallel
For a parallel installation ensure that the ceiling
joists are 48" apart from center to center.
Step 2
- Install Ceiling Brackets (A)
Locate and mark the center of the ceiling joist using a pencil. Align the Ceiling Bracket (A) slots with the center of
the ceiling joist. Note: The ceiling bracket installs with the larger slots facing the joists. Now mark the location of
the two slots of the ceiling bracket that align with the center of the joist using a pencil. Make sure the vertical posts
can be positioned between these two marked locations which is where the hardware will be used to attach the
ceiling brackets. Drill pilot holes into the two marked slot locations using a 7/32" drill bit. Install the Ceiling Bracket
(A) using two Hex Head Lag Bolts (G) and two Large Washers (H) using a drill and socket. Repeat steps to complete
the installation of the remaining three Ceiling Brackets, making sure to measure the correct distance between each
bracket based on the orientation.
Note: The ceiling brackets should
be installed with the longer slots
facing the joists.
Perpendicular
For a perpendicular installation ensure that
the ceiling joists are a maximum of 24"
apart from center to center.
