INSTRUCTION MANUAL
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
• Please read these instructions carefully
before using the appliance.
• Check that your mains voltage corresponds
to that stated on the appliance.
• Never leave the appliance unsupervised
when in use. Keep out of reach of children or
incompetent persons.
• From time to time check the cord for
damages. Never use the appliance if cord
or appliance shows any signs of damage
but have it checked and repaired by a
competent qualified service (*). Should the
cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a
competent qualified service (*)
• Only use the appliance for domestic purposes
and in the way indicated in these instructions.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or
any other liquid for any reason whatsoever.
Never place it into the dishwasher.
• Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
• Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance
from the power supply.
• Never use the appliance outside and always
place it in a dry environment.
• Never use accessories which are not
recommended by the producer. They could
constitute a danger to the user and risk to
damage the appliance.
• Never move the appliance by pulling the
cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught
in any way. Do not wind the cord around the
appliance and do not bend it.
• Stand the appliance on a table or flat
surface.
• Make sure the appliance has cooled down
before cleaning and storing it.
• Make sure the cord never comes into contact
with the hot parts of the appliance.
• The temperature of the accessible surfaces
may be very high when the appliance is in
use. Make sure not to touch these hot parts
of the appliance.
• Make sure the appliance never comes into
contact with inflammable materials, such as
curtains, cloth, etc...when it is in use, as a
fire might occur.
• Be careful not to scratch the special coating
of the cooking plate, as you might get little
pieces of this coating into the food. Use a
classical wooden spatula or a heat resistant
plastic one.
• Always unplug the appliance when it is not in
use, especially since it is not equipped with
an on/off switch.
• Only use the appliance for food that is
supposed to be cooked.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
(*) Competent qualified electrician: after sales
department of the producer or importer or
any person who is qualified, approved and
competent to perform this kind of repairs in
order to avoid all danger. In any case you
should return the appliance to this electrician.
USE
• Protective coating burn off will cause
smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful.
• When using for the first time, wipe the
surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then
dry.
• You may season the plates with butter,
margarine or cooking fat. Since the appliance
has a non-stick coated surface, the use of
butter or oil is optional.
• Close the appliance and let it heat.
• Plug into the electrical outlet. The red power
light and the green ready light will come on
to indicate that the appliance is switched on
and heating.
• The green ready light will go out when the
cooking temperature is reached.
During use, this ready light will come on
and out regularly. This simply means that
the thermostat is regulating the appliance's
temperature.
• Attention: during the functioning, the baking
plates heat up. Pay attention not to get
burned.

SANDWICH FUNCTION
• Prepare your sandwich while the unit is
heating.
• Fully open the sandwich maker. Place a slice
of bread in the bottom half with the buttered
side against the plate.
• Fill the sandwich.
• Add the top slice with the buttered side
up and carefully close the appliance. Do
not force shut. Steam will be ejected from
between the plates; make sure that fingers
do not come into contact with it.
• Lock the two halves with the wire clip while
toasting.
• Your sandwich will be toasted in 2 to 3min or
longer to suit your taste. Open the appliance
and remove sandwich using a plastic or
wooden spatula. Never use a metal knife as
this may damage the non-stick coating.
• Close the lid to preserve the heat until you
are ready to toast the next sandwiches.
• Prepare additional sandwiches if desired
while the others are cooking.
• Unplug when finished.
GRILL FUNCTION
• Lightly brush grids with butter, margarine or
cooking oil to avoid that the foods stick to the
plates.
• When the appliance has reached the desired
temperature, open it and put the foods in
on the grill plate. Make sure the foods are
not too thick, so that you can close the
appliance. The cooking time depends on the
type of food you are grilling. To avoid burning
the foods, check regularly during the cooking
process.
• When grilling is finished, unplug the
appliance and leave it open to allow it to cool
down.
CLEANING
• Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the
appliance and the plates to cool down.
Allow to cool with the Top Non-Stick Coated
Toasting Plate open.
• Wipe the inside and the edges of the platen
with kitchen roll, absorbent paper towelling or
a soft cloth.
• Should any filling be difficult to remove, pour
a little cooking oil onto the platen and wipe
off after 5mins when the food has softened.
• Wipe the outside with only a slightly
moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture,
oil or grease enter the cooling slots.
• Do not clean the inside or outside with any
abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this
will damage the finish.
• Do not immerse in water or any other
liquid.
