Thank you for buying the CTC717! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the
device was damaged in transit, you should contact your dealer and postpone installation of this device.
2. Parts
1. Green LED: lights up when a power source is connected.
2. Yellow LED: lights up in programming mode ; flashes in test mode.
3. Red LED: lights up during recording and when the dialler is busy dialling.
4. Numeric keypad
5. "∗" key: to delay dialling for 3 seconds.
6. "#" key: to delay dialling for 5 seconds.
7. SET key: in normal mode, press this key to enter programming mode.
8. CLR key: to delete a digit, cancel a selection, abort an application etc.
9. TEST key: in normal mode, press this key to enter test mode.
10. REC key: to start recording emergency messages.
11. "Line" phone jack: to connect to the phone line socket.
12. "Phone" jack: to connect the telephone set.
13. 9Vdc jack: to connect a power adapter.

3. Power Supply
Use a 9Vdc 300mA adapter or the 12Vdc output of a control panel to power the CTC717. Connect the adapter to the
9Vdc jack (#13) (mind the polarity!), or connect the +12Vdc-line of the control panel to pole 5 and the ground line
(negative) to pole 4 of the terminal block (#14).
There is an 8.4V Ni-Cd rechargeable battery pack inside the device for backup in case of a power failure. During
normal operation, the incoming power is used to supply power to the dialler and at the same time recharge the
battery. It takes 48 hours to fully charge the battery, which can then provide at least 2 hours of back-up power.
4. Connecting phone lines
Connect the "Line" input (#11) to the phone line socket in the wall.
Connect your phone to the "Phone" connector (#12).
