Additional WIRELESS universal door chimes
■ Kit contents : Portable door chime (maximum free-field range of 150 m)
and assembly accessories
The door chime requires three LR14/C 1.5 V batteries.
The noise-sensitive transmitter requires four LR03/AAA 1.5V batteries.
■ Installing the noise-sensitive transmitter : The transmitter may be placed
near a door phone, video door phone, door chime and any other noise source
(such as a telephone). The transmitter must be placed near an installed noise
source. It may be positioned horizontally or vertically as long as its microphone
(M) is near the noise source.
1. Remove the battery cover by pressing on it with your thumb and sliding down
(Figure 1).
2. Insert four LR03/AAA 1.5V batteries, following the polarity markings (Fig. 3).
3. Press the test button. If the transmission light comes on (Figure 3) the trans-
mitter is ready to operate.
4. Place the transmitter near the noise source (such as a door bell).
a - Operate the noise source.
b - If the transmission light comes on, the sensitivity and the distance between
the detector and the noise source are correct.
c - If it does not, bring the transmitter closer to the noise source and, if neces-
sary, increase the transmitter sensitivity.
5. Turn the sensitivity adjustment clockwise to increase the sensitivity, and anti-
clockwise to reduce it (Figure 4).
6. Lower the sensitivity to the lowest level that still activates the transmitter.
A too-high sensitivity setting may cause the door chime to be activated by
common household noises.
7. When the system is correctly set with the door chime, carefully mark the
desired location for the transmitter. Fasten it in place with adhesive dots or two
screws (Fig. 2). Note : the transmitter's range will be greatly reduced if it is pla-
ced on a metal surface.
■ Installing the door chime : This fully portable door chime can be used
anywhere in the home or garden (maximum free-field range: 150 metres).
1. Remove the door chime base by turning it anti-clockwise (Figure 5).
2. Insert three LR14/C batteries, following the polarity markings (Figure 6).
3. Put the base back on by aligning the arrow on the inside of base with the
arrow on the outside of the door chime (Figure 6), then twist the base clockwi-
se to lock it in place.
4. If you wish to use the wall bracket, secure it at the desired height with the
two large mounting screws supplied (Figure 7). Before doing so, make sure the
door chime operates correctly at the desired location by pressing the test
button on the transmitter (Figure 4).
■ Operation :
a) Melody selection : The transmitter is delivered set to Melody Selection,
which plays your favourite melody. You can select the standard melody by pres-
sing the melody switch down (Figure 4).This door chime features five melodies
and is factory set to ring like a Westminster chime. To choose another melody,
follow the easy steps below:
1. Open the door chime side cover by pushing on the ridged lines at its bottom
(Figure 8).
2. The melody selection button (Figure 9) plays a separate melody (total of 5)
each time it is pressed.
3. Press it until you hear the melody you want. The door chime will now play
the last melody heard.
4. Put the cover back in place.
b) Volume control : There is a small volume control button under the cover.
Use the tab on the cover to turn the button (Figure 9). Turn it clockwise to raise
the volume and anti-clockwise to lower it.
ATTENTION: the tab may break if you press too hard.
c) Selecting a new communication code. The transmitter and door chime are
encoded to operate together. The code is factory set and usually does not need to
be changed. However, if your door chime is activated by a disturbance you can chan-
ge the code easily by following the simple steps below.

Door chime :
1. Open the door chime side cover by pushing on the ridged lines at its bottom
(Figure 8).
2. Locate the code selection switches 1 to 8. Switches 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8 are
factory-set to the down position (Figure 10).
3. Set one or more switches to the up position.
The transmitter switches must be set to the same positions as the door chime
switches (Figure 10). Press the test button to check that this is so. If the door
chime does not ring, check the position of the code selection switches on the
transmitter and the door chime. Place them in the same positions if they are not
already so.
