INSTALLATION
Specifications
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
•
Do not let the unit freeze. Freezing may cause cracking or distortion that may destroy the unit.
•
Keep the grates/lid on at all times and fully cover the grates/lid with rocks, pottery, stones, etc. Replace grates/lid immediately
after maintenance or initial set-up. Animals such as toads or snakes may have a greater likelihood of entering the basin if a grate/
lid is left open, and their toxins can poison water, which could cause harm, severe harm, or death to pets or other wildlife if they
have access to the fountain.
INSTALLATION
1. Dig a hole for the basin.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the ground at the bottom is level and solid.
• For DFB36 models, make the hole 9 inches deep, 30 inches in diameter at the bottom, and slop-
ing to 35 inches in diameter at the top.
• For DFB44 models, make the hole 10 inches deep, 29 inches square at the bottom, and sloping
to 37 inches square at the top.
2. Place the basin into the hole.
• For DFB36 models, have the power cord cut-out facing toward the power source.
3. If the basin does not sit level, remove the basin and gradually add sand to areas of hole that need to
be raised.
4. Back-fill with soil all-around the outer perimeter of the basin.
5. For DFB36 models, set the support into the circular receptacle in the center of the basin and align
the tubing cut-outs.
6. For DFB44 models:
• Insert the eight supports into their holes.
• Firmly place the center plate into the supports.
7. Place the pump into the basin.
• For DFB36 models, run the power cord through the cord cut-out.
8. Cut a length of tubing long enough to reach from the bottom of the basin to the top of the water
feature.
9. Run the tubing through the center hole in the top of the support and out the tubing cut-outs, then
connect it to the pump outlet fitting.
10. Install the top plates.
• For DFB36 models, there are six top plates.
• For DFB44 models, there are four top plates.
11. For DFB44 models:
• On the side nearest the power supply, run the pump power cord out the cord gap, under the
edge of the top plate, and through the cord cut-out.
• Install the four access covers, ensuring that the cut-out in each faces outward.
12. To complete the installation, follow the instructions provided with the water feature & pump.
