3.4. Cleaning and maintenance

Use only non-corrosive cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces.
b)
After each cleaning, all parts should be thoroughly dried before the device is
reused.
c)
Store the appliance in a dry and cool place protected from moisture and direct
sunlight.
d)
Perform regular inspections of the unit checking technical fitness and any
damages.
e)
Use a soft cloth for cleaning.
f)
Do not use sharp and/or metal objects (e.g. wire brush or metal spatulas) as
they may damage the surface of the material from which the unit is made.
g)
Do not clean the unit with acidic substances, medical agents, thinners, fuel, oils
or other chemicals. It may cause damage to the device.
h)
At the end of the work, the rope must be fully inserted back into the housing;
otherwise, it will weaken the retraction force of the winding spring.
i)
After working on rainy days, dry rope with a dry cloth to avoid corrosion and
shorten the service life.
j)
Wipe the housing, rope, connectors and labels with a clean cloth with warm
water (up to 40°C) and a non-corrosive detergent. The cleaned unit can be
hung upright and dried in natural conditions; avoid direct drying at high
temperatures.
Periodic inspections: periodic inspections should be performed once a year.
k)
Periodic inspection may only be performed by a person qualified in the field of
personal protection equipment. If the unit is used in severe conditions,
inspections should be performed more than once a year. Inspections and
repairs should be recorded in the register:
