Battery storage
To prolong the lifetime of the battery it is necessary to ensure proper storage conditions. Battery can withstand approx.
500 "charging - discharging" cycles. A battery must be stored in the temperature range from 0 to 30
C with 50% relative
o
humidity. To store the battery longer, it must be charged to approx. 70% of its capacity. In case of longer storage time it
is required to charge the battery periodically. It is not recommended to allow the excessive discharge of the battery as
this shortens its service life and may cause irreversible damage. During its storage, a battery shall gradually discharge
due to its current leakage. Process of spontaneous discharge depends on storage temperature, the higher temperatu-
re, the faster discharge process. In case of improper storage of a battery, it may result in leakage of electrolyte. In the
event of leakage it must be protected by means of neutralizing agent, in case of a contact of electrolyte with eyes, they
should be rinsed with plenty of water and then it is required to seek immediate medical advice. It is forbidden to use
the tool with damaged battery. In case of complete wear of battery, it should be delivered to a specialist service point
dealing in management of this type of waste.
Transport of batteries
Pursuant to legal regulations, lithium-polymer batteries are treated as dangerous goods. Tool user may transport the
tool with a battery and batteries alone by land. No additional conditions must be met. If the transport is commissioned to
a third party (for example shipment by courier service), it is necessary to comply with regulations regarding the transport
of dangerous goods. Before the shipment please contact in this matter any person with relevant qualifi cations. It is
forbidden to transport any damaged batteries. For the duration of transport the dismantled batteries must be removed
from the tool, uncovered contacts should be protected, e.g. by covering with insulation tape. Batteries should be pro-
tected in the packaging in such a way as to prevent them from displacing inside the packaging during transport. Also
local regulations regarding transport of dangerous goods should be complied with.
PRODUCT HANDLING
Product preparation to work
Product should be unpacked, and all packaging components should be removed. It is recommended to keep the
packaging that may be used for product transport.
Press the switch, diodes will light up, which allows determining the battery approximate charge level. The bigger num-
ber of lighting diodes the higher level of battery charge.
No diodes lighting up indicates that the product is completely discharged.
Diodes go down automatically, within a short time after pressing the button.
Note! YT-83081 product has the selector of a switch lock. It should be moved before pressing the switch.
Lock position is not important in case of using the product as a starting device. It is important in case of using the
product in other applications. You will fi nd detailed description in later part of this manual.
Before using the product it should be charged. To do this use the charger supplied with the product. The plug of charger
cable should be connected to a slot indicated as "INPUT/WEJŚCIE" and then the charger itself should be connected
to mains slot.
When charging the battery pack, diodes will light up showing the approximate progress of charging. First, with pulsating
light, then constant light. The end of charging process will be indicated by the lighting up of all LEDs.
Disconnect the charger from a mains socket and then disconnect the charger cable from the slot of the product.
The product is ready for use.
The product may also be charged using 12 V car electric system. For this purpose, use the vehicle charger fi tted with
a cable topped off with a plug for product charging.
The process of product charging from the vehicle electric system is carried out the same way as aforementioned char-
ging process by means of a mains charger. Before the start of product charging process from the car electric system,
study the documentation supplied with a vehicle.
Note! In the course of product charging it is not possible to take advantage of other product functionalities.
