Surface Suction Unit Mini Skimmer / Servicing and maintenance

Servicing and maintenance
NOTE
In order to guarantee uninterrupted operation of the surface suction unit,
it is imperative to clean and service it at regular intervals.
DANGER
The filter unit must be safely switched off before any servicing or maintenance
work is carried out so that there is no danger of the suction system activating.
Stainless steel, like any other material, must be maintained and cleaned
regularly. The water must always be kept in optimal condition. Always follow the
manufacturer's instructions when dosing chemicals (pH, chlorine, salts, etc.).
They are as follows: max. chloride 500 mg/l or 0.08% salt content.
Never put chemical products in the water near stainless steel parts as they may
act as a bleaching agent and leave bleach stains on the steel. Stainless steel
corrodes when it comes into contact with dust, salts, concrete, dirt and other
materials (particularly when it comes into contact with iron). Try to avoid any
such contact. Depending on the type and concentration of water constituents,
rust-coloured spots may form on the stainless steel. These spots can be treated
quickly and easily using special cotton wool for cleaning/polishing.
For this purpose, use:
BEHNCKE Cleaner for Stainless Steel and Chrome
Item no. 461 000 74 or
Item no. 461 000 71.
Regularly check the screen basket and clean it if there is visible dirt ingress.
In indoor pools, there is a higher concentration of corrosive chemical fumes,
which is why cleaning from time to time is important.
We recommend you agree a maintenance contract with the swimming pool
specialist company responsible for you. This contract should include inspecting
and servicing the surface suction unit.
