Pump output
The required pump output depends upon the length and the diameter of the hoses used and also the difference in height between the garden pond or the
reservoir and the highest point of the waterfall. The maximum output of the pump should be 3000-3500 litres per hour.
Site preparation and installation
1. When preparing the ground for the waterfall or the stream take care that the soil used is sufficiently firm (for the weight of the system.)
2. Fix the waterfall sections on the location selected in the order preferred and one step at a time, starting with the end section (leading into the pond or
reservoir) and finishing with the top-most section of the waterfall. (Each section can be at an angle or in line with the preceding section.) Ensure that
the sections overlap well.
3. Cut the hose to the required length and then lead it through the soil up to the top-most section of the waterfall.
4. The water can enter the first section either from above, by means of inserting and fixing the end of the hose into this section (e.g. with a stone), or from
below - by means of fitting a suitable nozzle to the hose connection. To facilitate fitting the hose nozzle there is a specially prepared area at the end of
every waterfall section with markings for drilling a suitable opening for the size of nozzle chosen.
5. After connecting the pump with the first section of the waterfall via the hose check once again that all of the sections are fixed firmly and are as level as
possible. If necessary shore up individual sections using soil and/or suitable stones.
Operation
1. Before switching on the pump make sure that sufficient water is available. This applies in particular for reservoirs with low water content.
2. After switching on the pump check that the hose system is watertight and does not impede the free flow of water in any way.
3. When the water is flowing through the sections check on the existence of spattering at the joints, which could lead to the loss of water in large
quantities. If this occurs reduce the pumping rate and/or lay stones or pebbles at these points to ensure that the water flows correctly.
4. Fill up small reservoirs only when the waterfall is not in operation. Otherwise there is a danger that the reservoir would overflow because of water
flowing back from the sections of the waterfall.
5. Colorado decorative waterfall sections do not need any special maintenance. Whenever necessary you can clean the sections with a brush or a cloth.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents because of the danger of polluting the water, particularly unwelcome for plants with plants and fish.
6. All Colorado decorative waterfall sections are made from material which is absolutely frostproof. Therefore special anti-freeze liquid is not necessary for
the sections.
7. If the pump is taken out of service in the winter months follow the manufacturer's instructions for doing this.
