IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be
followed,including the following:

DANGER:
As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off;
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug this appliance immediately after using.
2. Do not use while bathing.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink (bathtubs, showers, basins or
other vessels containing water).
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water. Unplug this appliance immediately.Do not reach into the water.
6. When the hairdryer is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard
even when the hairdryer is switched off.
7. For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice
Check ALCI every time you use the hairdryer. This hairdryer is equipped with an Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a
safety feature that renders it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as immersion in water. To make sure the ALCI is
functioning properly and the exclusive water sensing system (ALCI) is working, perform the following test.
1. Plug in hairdryer and press test button on plug.
2. Hairdryer will stop working. There will be an audible click and reset button will pop out.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button: Unit should be unplugged. Then push reset button in, and reinsert plug into outlet.
5. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return hairdryer to service center.
6. It is important that if immersion occurs, this unit be brought to a service center. Do not try to reset.
Should the hairdryer go off and the reset button pop out during use, this could indicate a malfunction in
the hair dryer. Remove plug from outlet and allow the dryer to cool. Reset the ALCI. Reinsert plug into
outlet. Hairdryer should function normally. If not, return to service center for examination and repair.
WARNING
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. Do not use this applance near bathtubs, showers, basins, or other vessels containing water.
3. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain
disabilities.
4. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not
recommended by the manufacturer.
5. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged,
or dropped into water. Return the appliance to a service center for examination and repair.
6. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance.
7. Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch,
where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.
8. Never use while sleeping.
9. Never drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.
10. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered
11. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
12. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat sensitive areas.
13. Attachments may be hot during use. Allow them to cool before handling.
14. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.
15. While using the appliance, keep your hair away from the air inlets.
16. Do not operate with a voltage converter.
17. Do not disconnect the appliance from the power socket by pulling on the power cord. This could damage the power cord or
the power socket. Disconnect the cord from the power socket by gently pulling the plug of the power cord.
