Safety precautions
This symbol
words "Danger" or "Warning" indicates the risk level deriving from
failure to observe the prescribed safety precautions:
DANGER
Warns that failure to observe the precau-
tions involves a risk of electric shock.

1. GENERAL
These instructions are for the correct installation and optimum
efficiency of our electric pumps.
These are vertical multicellular centrifugal pumps, composed of
several impellers arranged in series that provide constant flows
and variable pressure heights according to the number of impe-
llers in the structure. They are designed to operate with clean
water at a maximum temperature of 35°C.
Top quality materials are used in their construction. They are
subjected to strict control and verified with the greatest care.
By correctly following the installaton and operation instructions
and the electrical wiring diagrams, overloads in the motor will
be prevented as will be the consequences of all types could be
derived from these, for which we decline all responsibility.
2. INSTALLATION
The pump should be secured to a solid base by means
of screws through the holes in the support in order to
avoid undesirable noise and vibration.
The pump should be placed as close as possible to the
water level so that the suction height will be as small as
possible and the load losses will be kept to a minimum.
Moreover, the unit should be safeguarded from possible
flooding and receive dry ventilation.
3. PIPE ASSEMBLY
The suction tube should have a diameter equal to or greater
than that of the intake tapping of the pump, with a minimum
upward inclination of 2% to enhance correct blow off.
It is indispensable to install a foot valve submerged at least 30
cm below the dynamic level of the well to prevent eddies and
the resulting entry of air.
The discharge tube should have a diameter equal to or greater
than that of the discharge tapping of the pump.

Neither the suction tube nor the discharge tube sould rest on
the pump.
When a larger diameter is used for the tubes, they shall be
structured with the respective eccentric cones in the suction
and concentric cones in the discharge.
4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The electrical installation should have a multiple sepa-
ration system with contacts opening at least 3 mm.
The protection of the system should be based on a dif-
ferential switch (l fn = 30 ma). The supply cable should
comply with CEE standars (2) or be of type H07 RN-F
as per VDE 0250.
Single-phase motors have built-in thermal protection. In
the case of 3-phase motors, the user should provide the
appropriate protection as per the installation regulations
in force.
The diagrams in Fig. (1) simplify correct electrical con-
nection.
5. CONTROLS PRIOR TO INITIAL START-UP
Check that the mains voltage and frequency are as
stated on the name plate.
Check that the motor shaft turn freely.
Fill the pump casing with water completely, the same as
the suction tube through the priming cap, verifying that
no joint or connector leaks.
Check that the turning direction of the motor concurs
with that indicated on the fan cover. For 3-phase motors,
if the rotating direction is wrong, invert two phases on
the protection panel.
THE PUMPSHOULD NEVER OPERATE DRY.
6. START-UP
Open all the gate valves on the suction and discharge circuits.
Check the current drawn and suitably adjust the thermal relay
in the case of the 3-phase version alone.
If the motor does not operate or does not draw water, try to
locate the problem in the listing of the most common faults and
their possible solutions that is given further on.
7. MAINTENANCE
Our pumps do not require any specific or programmed
maintenance. Nevertheless, it is recommended to
empty the pump casing during periods of low tempera-
ture or in the case of extended idleness, through the
blow-off cap. If the idleness continues, the pump should
be cleaned and stored in a dry, well-ventilated place.
