4.4 What to do during an alarm
On detection of a certain amount of propane-/
butane gas, the red light will activate, accompa-
nied by a shrill acoustic alarm (85 dB).
The detector already reacts at a concentration
of 25% of an explosive amount of gas.
The higher the gas concentration is in the room,
the more rapidly the detector will react.
• Explosion hazard at a concentration of 2.1 %.
• Detector reacts at 5-20%.
Stay calm and take the following measures in the
order appropriate to the situation:
• Immediately extinguish open flames, burning
tobacco or candles, etc.
• If the alarm is sounded under normal
conditions, block off the source of the gas leak
and open the windows and doors to provide
thorough ventilation.
• Do not activate or deactivate any electrical
devices (light switches, electric torches (flash-
lights), doorbells, telephones, intercoms or
other devices using electricity).
• Do not touch any electrical switches. Even the
tiniest sparks can cause an explosion.
• If a gas leak is detected repeatedly or
constantly, contact your gas utility. Do not use a
