Please familiarise yourself with these safety informations before you start to work with the GEMINI R.
These are based on the current EN 60825-1:2007 and IEC/TR 60825-14:2004 standards. Observing
these instructions and this information helps to ensure safe working. The laser may only be used by
trained personnel!
Laser radiation
The GEMINI R is classified as a class 3R Laser Product according to IEC Standard Publication 60825-1
Ed2.0: 2007 and United States Government Code of Federal Regulation FDA CDRH 21CFR Part
1040.10 and 1040.11 (Complies with FDA performance standards for laser products except for
deviations pursuant to Laser Notice No.50, dated June 24, 2007.).
This product projects a visible laser beam during operation. This product is manufactured and sold in
accordance with "Performance Standards for Light-Emitting Products" (FDA/BRH 21 CFR 1040) or
"Radiation Safety of Laser Products, Equipment Classification, Requirements and User's Guide (IEC
Publication 60825-1) provided on the safety standards for laser beam. As per the said standard, GEMINI
R standard model is classified as "Class 3R (IIIa) Laser Products". These are simple products to operate
and do not require training from a laser safety officer.

General safety instructions for handling laser radiation:
Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.

Prevent direct eye exposure to the beam!
•
Do not direct the beam at other people or into public areas!
•
To prevent reflections, do not point the laser at reflective surfaces.
•
If possible, do not operate the laser at eye level!
•
The housing of the laser may be opened by trained service technicians only!
•
Remove the battery pack before you open the housing!
•
