5. Operation
The counter has a self-testing facility that starts automatically when it is switched on.
After approx. 2 seconds sounds an acoustic signal, a "0" is displayed and the
programme keys LEUKO and CLEAR light up. The Cellcounter 2001 starts automatically
with the programme LEUKO because this is the most common programme.
For starting to count with LEUKO press SET repeatedly in order to choose the desired sum
of the counting process. It can be set individually from 100, 200, 300 ... up to 1000
"000"). Only for Div/Reti and Div/Ery the sum is 1000 by default.
In order to correct possible errors press CLEAR for at least 3 seconds. All information
previously entered will be cancelled, the counter returns to its start-position and can be
programmed once more. Pressing the corresponding key you can choose any of the 4
counting programmes. The total sum can also be programmed pressing SET.
Having chosen the programme and the counting sum, counting can be started by
pressing GO ON + COUNT. Now the program can only be changed using CLEAR as
mentioned above.
For every counted cell the corresponding key has to be pressed once and the
corresponding counter counts one impulse. While keeping pressed the key the display
shows the content of this counter that means the number of the respective cells. When
releasing the key the total sum of all counting impulses or the number of all counted
cells. This way the counting can be checked at any time before reaching the
predetermined sum of the counting process
During the counting process the percentage can also be displayed at any time by
pressing %. All keys that have been used for counting will be flashing. The key of which
the counting content is displayed at the moment is illuminated. The display shows the
percentage of this cell type in relation to the total count. Each of the blinking keys can
be chosen in order to display its percentage. Thereafter the light of the checked key
will switch off. If you press a key that was not used for counting before, the display
shows "- - -". Counting can be continued with GO ON + COUNT.
In case of an error the last entered impulse can be deleted using ERROR CORR. Pressing
ERROR CORR the value of the last pressed counting key is displayed reduced by the last
entered value. During this process the respective counting key will be illuminated.
Releasing ERROR CORR the new counting total will be displayed, reduced by the last
entered value of the mentioned register key.
Only the last entered counting impulse can be cancelled.
Reaching the pre-defined sum, an acoustic signal sounds and all entry keys are
blocked. The keys REAL and % can be used as previously described. Further counting
may only be carried out after pressing the GO ON + COUNT key, otherwise a warning
signal sounds.
