Your unit has been
designed
to
ensure optimal
recording
and
playback with various types of cassettes. The cassettes which
you
purchase will be
labelled accordingly.

Dolby
noise reduction systems
Using
the
Dolby NR system
will
make high-quality recordings
even
clearer.
The
noise
reduction
feature
is
effective
during
both
recording and playback.
lf the Dolby
NR
system has been used to record
a
cassette,
it
wlll
have
to
be used again
during playback, otherwise reproduction
would
contain
too
many hlgh-pltched sounds and would
be
unpleasant.
Similarly, cassettes
which
have been recorded without
the
Dolby
NR
system should
be
played back without
this
system,
to
avoid tone
distortion.

lf
you
wish
to
use one
of the
noise
reduction
circuits,
press
button:
o
(20):
indicator (3) lights
up;the
Dolby
B
NR
noise reduction
circuit
is now operating. This circuit substantially reduces tape
hiss, particularly during the quiet parts of a piece of
music.
o
(19):
indicator (4) lights
up;lhe
Dolby
C NR
noise reduction
circuit
is now operating.
This
circuit is more etfective than the
previous circuit and offers a better signaFto-noise
ratio.
IMPORTANT: lf you do not wish
to
use any of the noise
reduction
circuits, press button
(21)
to lock
it.
Recording
a)
From different signal sources (for
example: record
player,
radio, second tape recorder, digital audio disc player)
connected
to
your amplifier. The latter
is
connected to sockets
(29).
