Slight smoke and odours are normal during this process.
Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
Mains Cable
Unwind the mains cable completely. Pass the cable through
the cable guide at the back of the appliance.
Electrical Connection
Check that the mains voltage you want to use matches that
of the appliance. You will find the information on the type
plate.
Operation
1. Unwind the mains cable completely.
2. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed
earthed socket.
3. Adjust the browning level with the control knob as de-
sired from the lightest level 1 to the darkest level 7. If in
doubt, start with a lower setting. You can read the degree
of browning on the display above the control knob.
4. Place the bread slice(s) in the toast slot and pull the
carriage down with the lever until it engages. The control
lamp at the button lights up.
5. The appliance starts to toast. When the set browning
level is reached, the appliance switches off automatically.
The slide moves up automatically.
6. When you no longer need the appliance, disconnect the
mains plug from the socket.
Special Functions
The special functions can only be selected after the appli-
ance has been switched on with the lever.
Reheat or Defrost:
The corresponding control lamp indicates the function.
WARNING:
• Always unplug the appliance from the mains and let it cool down
before cleaning.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water! It could cause an elec-
tric shOCK OR fire.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.

Bread Roll Attachment (Integrated)
Do you want to warm up or toast bread rolls?
1. Fold up the bread roll attachment by pressing the lever
(10) down.
2. Operate the appliance as described previously.
When you no longer need the bread roll attachment, press
the lever up. The bread roll attachment folds down.
Sandwich Tongs
The sandwich tongs are ideal for toasting sandwiches
quickly and easily.
1. Press the handles of the sandwich tongs together and
insert the sandwich into the tongs. Then release the
handles again.
2. Insert the sandwich tongs with the sandwich into the
toasting slot and lower the carriage as far as possible
using the lever.
3. Select the browning level to start toasting.
4. Remove the sandwich tongs when the toasting process
is finished.
- Be careful, the sandwich and the sandwich tongs are
hot.
5. Remove the sandwich from the tongs.
Cleaning
Housing and Sandwich Tongs
To clean the exterior of the appliance and the sandwich
tongs, use only a moderately damp cloth.
For defrosting and then toasting
frozen bread.
To reheat bread that has already
been toasted.
To stop the toasting process PRE-
