• Place the anti-spill vessel (C1) and the collection vessel (C2) in their own compartment (A5) to avoid spilling.
• Make sure that all connections are properly made and that the anti-spill vessel and the collection vessel lids are properly closed
in order to prevent suction leaks.
• Be careful not to knock the anti-spill vessel over while connected to the operating unit as liquid might be aspirated back into the
unit and damage the pump. Should this occur, immediately stop the suction pump. The anti-spill vessel and the collection vessel
should immediately be emptied and cleaned.
• Interactions: the materials used in manufacture of the unit that come into contact with body-secretions are thermoplastic
polymers with excellent chemical stability and resistance (PP). The possibility of a chemical interaction, however, cannot be
excluded. The following precautions are therefore recommended: a) prolonged contact between liquid and vessels or tubes should
be avoided; always wash or disinfect these parts immediately after use; b) if unexpected situations occur, for example, the
accessories crack or become soft, stop operation immediately and substitute the materials used. Contact an authorized service
centre specifying how suctioning was being performed.
• The cannula is a disposable sterile product; it should be replaced after each application. Check the use-by date on the cannula
original package and make sure that the sterile package has not been tampered with. FLAEM NUOVA S.p.A. disclaims liability
for any harm caused to patients as a result of deterioration of the aforesaid sterile package, where this is due to handling
by third parties of the original packaging of the entire unit.
• The manufacturer should be contacted for reporting problems and/or unexpected events related to device operation.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before each use, the accessories should be carefully checked so as to make sure that there is no dust, deposits, lumps or
liquid substances inside the connection tubes, the anti-spill vessel, the collection vessel and the relevant lids. Accurately
clean or disinfect these parts strictly following the instructions provided in the "CLEANING, SANITIZATION AND DISINFECTION"
section. A personal use of the accessories, the collection vessels and the connection tubes is recommended in order to avoid
any risks of infection.
1. Insert the power cord (A6) into a power socket corresponding to the voltage of the device. This must be positioned so that it is not
difficult to make the disconnection from the mains.
2. Carefully wash your hands before going ahead with the application.
3. Connect the air inlet port (A3) of the unit to the "A" port (OUT) (C1.1) of the anti-spill vessel by means of the short tube (B1). Use
the other short tube (B1) to connect the "B" port (IN) (C1.2) of the anti-spill vessel to the "A" port (OUT) (C2.1) of the collection
vessel (C2).
4. By means of the long tube (B2) connect the "B" port (IN) (C2.2) of the collection vessel (C2) to the manual suction regulator (C3) and
to the disposable suction cannula (C4).
5. Operate the unit by turning on the switch (A1), keeping in mind that the unit is designed for continuous use, on a firm flat surface
(so as to allow the correct operation of the floating shut-off against ingress of liquids in the suction pump), free of clutter (so as to
allow the motor to properly cool down). The desired level of vacuum (bar) can be set by using the vacuum regulation knob (A4). A
higher vacuum level is obtained by turning the knob in the (+) direction; a lower vacuum level is obtained by turning the knob in the
(-) direction; these values can be read on the vacuum gauge (A2).
6. Put your finger on the hole of the manual suction regulator (C3) and start suctioning by making alternate upward and downward
movements on the hole with your finger.
7. When the application is finished, turn off and unplug the unit. Before restarting the unit make sure that it has cooled down to room
temperature.
8. Empty and clean the collection vessel and the connection tubes.
CLEANING, SANITIZATION AND DISINFECTION
Before undertaking any cleaning operation, switch off and unplug the unit.
CLEANING THE DEVICE AND THE TUBE'S OUTER SURFACE
Use only a cloth dampened with anti-bacterial detergent (non abrasive and free from any kind of solvent).
INTERNAL OF THE TUBE (B1,B2)
- Tubing should be rinsed thoroughly after every use by running hot tap water through it followed by a solution of one part vinegar to
three parts hot water.
- Rinse with hot tap water and air dry.
SANITIZATION AND DISINFECTION OF THE ACCESSORIES
We recommend personal use of accessories to avoid any risk of spreading the infection.
Disassemble the accessories as described below:
Remove the cannula (C4), the manual suction regulator (C3) and the long tube (B2) from the collection vessel. Disconnect the other
short tube (B1) from both the anti-spill vessel and the collection vessel. Unscrew the collection vessel lid; empty and clean the
collection vessel. Disconnect the short tube (B1) from both the anti-spill vessel and the unit port.
