PROTECT YOUR EYES AND FACE
• Any chipper can throw foreign objects into your eyes. They can be irreversible damage. Always
wear protective eyewear. The usual glasses do not protect the view from possible blows or
damage. They are not safety glasses.
• Do not place the chipper on the ground to work. This is an improper operating position, as the
operator has to bring his face close to the machine, and there are risks of chips or debris being
thrown.
EXTENSION CABLE
• Improper use of extension cords can cause inefficient operation of the chipper, resulting in
possible overheating. Make sure that the extension cord does not exceed 10 m, and its section is
not less than
2.5 mm2, to allow sufficient current to the motor.
• Avoid using the free and inadequately isolated connection. Connections should be made with
suitably protected material for outdoor use.
AVOID POSSIBLE ELECTRIC SHOCKS
• Check that the electrical circuit is properly protected and that it corresponds to the power, voltage
and frequency of the motor.
• Check that there is grounding, and differential switch.
• Avoid direct contact with: radiators, pipes, cold rooms ...
• Never open the motor drive box. If necessary, contact a qualified technician.
• Make sure your fingers do not touch the metal-tipped plug when connecting or disconnecting
the chipper.
KEEPING VISITORS AND CHILDREN AWAY
• The chipper must be used by only one person. All other personnel must be placed at a safe
distance, away from the work area, especially when it is being used. It should never be used by
another person to help you if a jam occurs.
INSPECT YOUR CHIPPER
• Make sure there are no nails or foreign objects in the log you have cut. The ends of the trunks
should be flat. Branches should be cut at trunk level.
DON'T OVERDO IT
• The floor should not be slippery.
• Keep your feet firm and balanced at all times.
• Never set foot on the chipper. Serious injuries can occur if the tool is tilted or if you have
unintentional contact with cutting tools. Do not place anything on or next to the chipper, as it could
be dangerous if someone comes to pick them up.
AVOIDING INJURIES FROM UNEXPECTED ACCIDENTS
• Always pay attention to the movement of the chipper.
• Do not attempt to load a log until the pusher has stopped.
• Keep hands out of the way of moving parts.
