GENERAL NOTES ON USING THE PEDAL
Power Supply
Your instrument's signal is enhanced from the moment you plug in. The -3dB switch
determines whether the pedal is being used with a high or low output instrument
and sets a clear signal path to the input control. With the signal at its optimal level,
you then hit a defined set of features designed to enhance your tone. The PRO DI
features a tried and tested 5-band EQ, varying the bass, low-mid, middle, hi-mid and
treble.
Grounding Issues
Grounding issues can occur when using the pedal in certain circumstances, The
pedal is a complete pre-amplifier in it's own right and it may be necessary to
provide a ground connection to elimate noise .
When the pedal is connected to the PA for example the ground can be
"Telescoped" from the mixing desk using the ground switch
If the pedal is connected to an amplifier at the same time then the pedal will receive
its ground from the amplifier and the ground lift switch should be activated to avoid
a ground loop.
When using the pedal for recording, especially silent recording where the pedal
is connected via an interface to a computer it may be nescessary to also connect
the output of the pedal to an amplifier which is plugged in to a mains outlet ( the
amplifier does not have to be switched on ) to provide the required ground.
Un-grounded pedals of this type can be susceptible to interferrence and providing
a ground connection can often solve this type of problem . Bass instruments are a
really good aerial and capable of picking up all kinds of noise!
