Mode of use

1. Setup

Take the scale out of the carrier and place the
base on a fl at and fi rm place. Otherwise accura-
cy can be affected.
Similarly, scale overloads must be avoided not
to damage the equipment.
Prior to operating the scale place the battery
in the rear part of the digital control. The scale
is provided with a battery indicator with the
symbol
to the left part of the display, whi-
ch will indicate through 5 positions the battery
status.
Switch the scale on pressing the button
Select weight units by pressing the button
Press this button to toggle between units.
When work is completed make sure to keep the
scale inside the carrier to prevent the scale from
being damaged.

2. Tare

In order for the scale to weight the element pla-
ced on the platform, after setup, the scale must
display 0 Kg/Lb. In order that is so, press the
button for the scale to display 0 Kg (Lb) and
a symbol–0- appears to the left, meaning it is
the level of reference from which the scale mea-
sures weight increments or decrements.

3. Operation

3.1. Element weighing

Place the element in the centre of the base /
platform or connect directly through a bottle
connector and wait a few seconds for the scale
to stabilise. Element weight is displayed on the
control screen.

3.2. Refrigerant charge

Tare
Place the refrigerant cylinder in the centre of
the base / platform or connect directly through
a bottle connector and wait a few seconds for
the scale to stabilise. Element weight is displa-
yed on the control screen. Deducting the Tare
weight we will know the amount of refrigerant
left over inside the cylinder (maximum amount
of refrigerant to charge). Tare the scale again
pressing the TARE (0) button for the scale to
display 0 Kg (Lb) and a symbol –0- will appear
to the left, which means it is the reference level
from which the scale measures weight incre-
ments or decrements.

Charging the refrigerant

In order to charge the refrigerant, connect the
refrigerant cylinder through hoses adequate for
the type of refrigerant to the manifold gauge
set and this to the HVAC&R system. After ope-
ning the refrigerant cylinder valve the weight
displayed on the scale digital screen begins to
decrease (negative sign -). This amount will be
the amount of refrigerant introduced into the
HVAC&R system.

3.3. Refrigerant recovery

Tare
Place the refrigerant reclaiming cylinder in the
centre of the base / platform and wait a few se-
conds for the scale to stabilise. Element weight
is displayed on the control screen. Deducting
the Tare weight we will know the amount of
refrigerant left over inside the cylinder and the
amount of refrigerant that can be introduced
will be known (Maximum 80% of the cylinder
capacity). Tare the scale again pressing the TARE
(0) button for the scale to display 0 Kg (Lb)
and a symbol –0- will appear to the left, which
means it is the reference level from which the
scale measures weight increments or decre-
ments.

Recovering the refrigerant

In order to recover the refrigerant, connect the
refrigerant recovery cylinder through hoses ade-
quate for the type of refrigerant to the recovery
equipment and this to the HVAC&R system
(see connection in 1.1). After opening the
refrigerant cylinder valve the weight displayed
on the scale digital screen begins to increase.
This amount will be the amount of refrigerant
removed from the HVAC&R system.
ATTENTION
Disposal of the refrigerant into the atmosphere
is penalized. Use adequate equipment such as
hoses, scales, manifold gauge sets, reclaimers,
etc.

Calibration instructions

(Is only to be performed by ROTHENBERGER
service )
1
Place the scale on a fi rm and fl at surface.
2
Switch the equipment off (Prior to scale
switch off, check the battery is charged).
3
Remove all objects from the scale pla-
tform.
4
While pressing the "TARE" button, press
the "switch off" button for 1 second.
Then release the switch off button and
then the "TARE" button.
5
The message "E CALL" will be displayed
on the screen meaning that the equip-
ment is ready for calibration.

6
Press the "LB/KG" button, and then the
"TARE" button two consecutive times.
Now the screen will display "0000". Then
press "TARE" two consecutive times and
then a nº will be displayed indicating the
weight of the unloaded platform (the rea-
ding must be between 800 and 2000).
7
Once the value displayed on the screen
stabilises, press the "LB/KG" button and
"0060" will be displayed on the screen.
8
Calibrate the scale for a weight of 60kg
on the platform. Then a number will be
displayed representing the reference weig-
ht applied (e.g.: 32011).
9
Wait a few seconds until the reading sta-
bilises and then press the "LB/KG" button.
The screen will display "End" and then
"88888" will be displayed. Then change
to "weighing" mode for the screen to
display "0.0000 kg".
10
Now, the scale is calibrated
11
PRECAUTION
If the displayed value does not stabilise, please
contact the Technical Service. Do not try to
calibrate the scale yourself.
If the wrong buttons are pressed during the
calibration operation, the scale will leave the
"calibration" mode.
