INTENDED USE
3M™ Peltor™ Mesh visors meet the requirements of
prEN1731:1995/EN1731:1997, Mesh type eye and face
protectors, including the requirements for increased
robustness.
3M™ Peltor™ Clear Visors meet the requirements of
EN 166:1995, Personal eye protection and EN
172:1995, Sunglare lters for industrial use, depending
on the model selected.
These products meet the requirements for protection
against high speed particles for low energy impacts.
3M™ Peltor™ Mesh and Clear visors are designed to
protect the wearer against impacts to the eye and face
from the front and the side.
A small peak protects the eyes so that re ections and
adverse weather conditions do not interfere with the
eld of vision.

WARNINGS

Always be sure that the complete product is:
- Suitable for the application;
- Fitted correctly;
- Worn during all periods of exposure;
- Replaced when necessary.
Proper selection, training, use and appropriate
maintenance are essential in order for the product to
help protect the wearer from impact hazards.
Failure to follow all instructions on the use of these
personal protection products and/or failure to properly
wear the complete product during all periods of
exposure may adversely affect the wearer's health, lead
to severe or life threatening illness or permanent
disability.

Mesh visors do not provide protection against liquid
splash (including molten metals), hot solids, electrical
hazards, infrared or ultraviolet radiation.
If the symbols F, B,and A are not common to both the
visor, an additional or alternative ocular and the frame
then the lowest level of protection shall be assigned to
the complete eye and face protector.
Visors marked 'S' should not be used for protection if
there is a foreseeable risk from hard or sharp ying
particles.
In order to comply with eld of use symbol '8' a
face-shield must be tted with a lter of scale number
2-1.2 or 3-1.2 and have a minimum thickness of 1.4mm.
Check apparatus is complete, undamaged and correctly
assembled. Any damaged or defective parts must be
replaced with original 3M spare parts before use.
Scratched or damaged visors should be replaced.
Product performance can be affected by exposure to
certain chemical substances. For further information
contact 3M.
Protective goggles must be worn when there is a risk of
injury to the eyes by particles that may penetrate the
visor.
Where markings on the visor and frame are different,
the lower classi cation shall be taken.
V40E only
The transmission of red light is not suf cient to allow the
visor to be worn when driving a vehicle.
APPROVALS
These products meet the requirements of the European
Community Directive 89/686/EEC (Personal Protective
Equipment Directive) and are thus CE marked.
Certi cation under Article 10, EC Type-Examination,
has been issued for these products by INSPEC
International Limited, 56 Leslie Hough Way, Salford,
Greater Manchester M6 6AJ, UK (Noti ed Body number
0194).
