NOTE: We do not recommend sharpening
blade - but if you do, be surethe blade is
balanced.
TO SHARPEN BLADE
Care shouldbe takento keepthe blade
balanced, An unbalancedbladewiltcause
eventual damage to lawn mower or engine,
• The blade can be sharpenedwith a fileor
on a grindingwheel. Do not attempt to
sharpen whileon the mower.
• To check bladebalance,drivea nail intoa
beam or wail Leaveabout one inchof the
straightnail exposed. Place center hole of
blade over the head of the nail.. If blade is
balanced, it shouldremainin a horizontal
position. II eitherend of the blade moves
downward, sharpenthe heavy end until the
blade is balanced.
GRASS CATCHER
o The grass catchermay be hosed with
water, but must be dr/when used,
• Check your grasscatcheroften for damage
or deterioration. Through normal use it will
wear. Il catcherneeds replacing, replace

Check yourengineoil tevel morefrequently to
avoid possible enginedamage from running
low on oil
Change the oil after every25 hours of
operation or eachseason, Youmay need to
change the oil moreoften under dusty,ditty
conditions.
Check the crankcaseoil levelbefore starting
the engine and alter eachfive (5) hours of
continuous use°Tighten oil plug securelyeach
time you check the oil level
TO CHANGE ESNGINE OIL
NOTE: Before tippinglawn mower to drain oil,
drain fuel tank by runningengine until fuel tank
is empty°
• Disconnectspat',< plug wirefrom spark plug
and place wire where it cannot come in
contact withsparkpk_g,
• Remove engine oil cap; layaside on a clean
surface.
• Tip lawn mower on its side as shown and
drain oil into a suitable container. Rock lawn
mower back and forth to remove'any oil
trapped insideof engine,
• Wipe off any spilledoil on lawn mower and
onside of engine.
• Fillengfnewith oil Fillonlytothe "FULL"
lineon the dipstick DO NOT OVER FILL
• Replaceengine oil cap,
• Reconnectspark plugwire to sparkplug
AIR RLTER
Yourengine wi{fnotrunproperly and may be
damaged by usinga dirty air filter.
Replacethe airfilter everyyear, more often if
you mow invery dust,],dirty conditions..Do not
wash air filtar_
TO CHANGE AIR FILTER
• Remove the air filter cover by turning
counterclockwise to the stop and pull away
from coflar.
• Remove fittarfrom insideof cover.
•CIean the insideof the cover and the cottar
to remove any dirtaccumulation.
• Insert new filter into cover,
• Put alr fittercover and filter intocollar
aligning the tab v_ththe slot
Pushin on cover and turn clockwiseto
tighten.
