OETIKER CAL 02
Determining the closing force
Guide the measuring tip (5) of dial gauge (1) into the adjustment for the dial gauge (8) on the SKS 02 (3)
The measuring tip (5) of dial gauge (1) must rest on the contact pad (9)
Use a 2.5 A/F hexagon key (4) to tighten the socket cap screw (7) until the dial gauge, is adequately retained
Switch on the dial gauge (1)
Use RESET to set the dial gauge (1) to zero (for further details about using the dial gauge, please see the
appropriate operating instructions)
Insert the closing force lugs (6) on SKS 02 (3) into the pincer jaw opening so that they:
- butt against the gauge, and
- are positioned centrally in the pincer jaws.
Operate the pneumatic pincer or close the manual pincer with force control HMK 01 until it starts to vibrate. Repeat
the above procedure several times
Read the display of the dial gauge (1) and evaluate the force measured using the correlation table on page 32.
If necessary, adjust the closing force of the installation tool as described in its operating instructions.
Warning
When operating the pincer, it is possible for a finger to be between the jaws.
When closing the pincer jaws, fingers can be crushed!
Maintenance
OETIKER closing force lugs (6) are required
Undo socket cap screws (11) holding the closing force lugs (6) using 3 A/F hexagon key (4)
Remove worn closing force lugs (6)
Place new closing force lugs (6) in position
Apply a drop of Loctite 243 adhesive (10) to the threads of socket cap screws (11)
Screw in socket cap screws (11) and tighten them (5.6 Nm)
Checking
When dispatched the Test Equipment CAL 02 complies with the technical data given. With respect to the verification of
inspection equipment called for by quality regulations, ensure that the SKS 02 is checked at least once a year. The
annual period for the verification of inspection equipment starts with dispatch not the date of the test report. Please
contact OETIKER and send the SKS 02 back to OETIKER for verification.
The customer must ensure that the dial gauge is checked for accuracy at least once a year.
Taking Out of Service, Storage
Before storage, the Test Equipment CAL 02 and closing force lugs should be cleaned and lightly greased.
Replace defective parts.
Disposal
Dispose of packing material as required by local regulations. When disposing of the Test Equipment CAL 02, national
and regional laws, regulations and directives must always be observed.
