ATTENTION! DANGER OF ELECTRIC
SHOCK!
EN
Consider working area environment. Do not expose
power tools to rain. Do not use power tools in damp
or wet locations. Keep work area well lit and dry. Try
to prevent the device from getting wet or being
exposed to humidity. Do not leave it outside
overnight. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.
The power supply cable should be checked
regularly and, before using it, make sure the cable is
not damaged or worn out. If the cable is not in good
condition, do not use the appliance; take it to an
authorized service Center.
When tool is used outdoor, only use an extension
cable that is suitable for outdoor use and which is
marked for this specific use. Keep it away from the
working area, from damp, wet or oily surfaces and away
from heat and flammable materials.
Avoid any accidental starting: make sure that the
power switch (if present) is in the «off» position, before
plugging the tool in.
Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning
the tool on.
Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn the
tool on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
WARNING! During the use of certain
power tools, some dust containing
chemicals known to cause cancer,
may occur.
Some of these chemicals are: lead from lead based paints,
crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry
products, arsenic and chromium from chemically treated
lumber and other dangerous products. If dust is present, your
risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often
you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these
chemicals, any time you do pulverulent operations, work
in a well ventilated area and work with approved safety
equipment, such as dust masks that are specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles.
If the appliance strikes a foreign body, examine the
device for signs of damage and carry out any necessary
repairs before restarting and continuing to work.
If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally, turn
it off and check for the cause immediately. Vibration is
generally a warning of trouble.
Always switch off the appliance and wait until
the device completely stops whenever you leave
the
machine,
before
before changing accessories, checking, cleaning,
troubleshooting or working on the appliance.
It is forbidden to move or modify any of the internal
parts of the device.
Specific safety rules
Always wear a hard hat (safety helmet), safety
goggles or eye protection when using this tool (ordinary
eye or sun glasses are NOT safety glasses). They
will help deflect fragments of the material that may be
thrown toward your face and eyes.
Some material contains chemicals which may be
toxic and dust generated or gases released from the
material you are working on may cause respiratory
difficulties. Take caution to prevent dust inhalation and
skin contact. Use a dust mask and thick protective
gloves.
Use thick cushioned gloves and limit the exposure
time by taking frequent rest periods. Vibration caused
by hammer action may be harmful to your hands and
arms.
Wear ear protectors when using the tool. Prolonged
exposure to high intensity noise can cause hearing
loss.
Be sure no one is below when using the tool in high
locations. Be sure no one is hazardously too near to
the working area.
Do not point the tool at any one in the area when
operating. The chisel could fly out and injure someone
seriously.
Be sure the chisel is secured in place before
operation.
Under normal operation, the tool is designed to
produce vibration. The screws can come loose easily,
causing a breakdown or accident. Check tightness of
screws carefully before operation.
In cold weather or when the tool has not been used for
a long time, let the tool warm up for a while by operating it
under no load. This will loosen up the lubrication. Without
proper warm-up, hammering operation is difficult.
Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
Use the auxiliary handle supplied with the tool.
Always use both handles for maximum control. Never
attempt to operate this tool with one hand. It develops
intense percussive forces during operation and you may
lose control if attempting one hand operation. Losing
control of the tool can cause injuries.
Hold the tool by the insulated handles when
carrying out work during which the plug-in tool could
strike concealed power cables or its own mains lead.
Contact with a live cable can also make the metal parts
of the equipment live and will cause an electric shock.
Always be sure you have a firm footing.
Position yourself to avoid being caught between the
tool and walls or posts. Should the chisel become bound
