Description of functions
Capacity overflow
If a number with more than 8 digits is entered or the result exceeds the 8-digit capacity,
the symbol C will flash up left hand in the display panel. The C symbol means that the first
8 digits of the result are correct, but that the indicated decimal point must be displaced to the
right by 8 digits (X108).
The Cl-key will clear the capacity overflow.
1234567x5678=7009871426
Indicated result: C 70.098714
Decimal point displaced to the right by 8 digits: 7009871400.
Change of batteries
After pushing-off the case, four batteries of sizes AAA, Micro, IEC RO 3,1,5 V can be placed.
The following points have to be observed:
1. The batteries must be placed correctly, i.e. plus to plus and minus to minus.
2. During calculating breaks the calculator should be switched off in order to save capacity
of batteries.
3. Used batteries should be removed from the calculator because the danger of running-out
and thus damage of the calculator exists.
4. The battery-operation depends mainly on the quality of batteries. The best results
(appr. 23 hours @) will be obtained with alcall-manganese batteries.
5. If the batteries are run down, the display will darken. Up to that moment the calculator will
work correctly.
In spite of four batteries, the re-chargeable battery 4/90 DKO can be used.
This battery can be loaded in a separate charger.
