b) Keep the work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
3. Special Safety Instructions
CAUTION! The device is not suitable for extracting
hazardous dust.
CAUTION! The machine is only suitable for
extracting dry dust.
Damaged or cracked parts must be replaced. Do
not operate the machine with defective dust
extraction system. Do not use if openings are
clogged / blocked.
Disconnect the machine from the power supply
before making any adjustments, changing tools,
maintaining or cleaning.
Always wear a dust mask, protective goggles,
gloves, and sturdy shoes when working with your
power tool!
Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause
hearing loss.
Do not touch the rotating tool!
Do not hold the machine on extraction base body
(4) or intake connector (3). Hold the machines only
on the provided handles.
Never touch the tool or parts near the tool directly
after work because they may be extremely hot and
can cause burns to the skin,
A damaged or cracked additional handle must be
replaced. Never operate the machine with a
defective additional handle.
Always work with the additional handle correctly
installed.
To achieve optimal dust extraction, the accessory
must not protrude too far from the intake connector
(3). Observe the specified tool lengths (page 2).
The dust that collects in the dust extraction system
may contain fine quartz dust as well as other
hazardous substances. Fine quartz dust is
carcinogenic and should not enter the body. When
carrying out adjustments, retrofitting, maintenance
or cleaning ensure that no dust is stirred up and
inhaled.
Reducing dust exposure:
The dust extraction system collects a large part of
the generated dust, however not all types of dust.
Before starting the operation, determine the hazard
class of the generated dust. Use a vacuum cleaner
with the officially approved safety classification and
in accordance with the locally applicable dust
protection provisions.
WARNING - Some dust created by power
sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities contains chemicals known to
cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive
harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
- Lead from lead-based paints,
- Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and
other masonry products, and
- Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated
lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending
on how often you do this type of work. To reduce
your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well-
ventilated area, and work with approved safety
equipment, such as those dust masks that are
specially designed to filter out microscopic
particles.
This also applies to dust from other materials such
as some timber types (like oak or beech dust),
metals, asbestos. Other known diseases are e.g.
allergic reactions, respiratory diseases. Do not let
dust enter the body.
Observe the relevant guidelines and national
regulations for your material, staff, application and
place of application (e.g. occupational health and
safety regulations, disposal).
Collect the particles generated at the source, avoid
deposits in the surrounding area.
Use suitable accessories for special work. In this
way, fewer particles enter the environment in an
uncontrolled manner.
Reduce dust exposure with the following measures:
- do not direct the escaping particles and the
exhaust air stream towards yourself or nearby
persons or towards dust deposits,
- ensure good ventilation of the workplace and keep
it clean using a vacuum cleaner. Sweeping or
blowing stirs up dust.
- Vacuum or wash protective clothing. Do not blow,
beat or brush protective gear.
